NEW Season 5 new artist voting

  • NEW Season 5 new artist voting

A Long break, a new leader, a new start, …. "new artists"!

Due to the long break it’s just fair to restart the new artist voting thread for the upcoming season. This new season will start on Sunday 17th of June 2012.

For the next 7/8 weeks you will have the opportunity to vote for artists you’d like to see participating in the new season, which will consists of 3 league tables with 20 artists each. We need hence 60 artists. The Cup's participants will also be decided in this thread.

    HOW TO VOTE?

Post a list of 15 artists hailing from England, Scotland and Wales. Artists from Northern Ireland are not allowed since these artists are destined to be in the Irish Rock League.
The bands/artists have to play music related to one of the following genres: rock, punk, ska, metal, alternative, post-rock, grunge, singer-songwriter …
It is not obligatory to have all 3 British region represented among your votes.

The league tables from the last season will remain available at the group’s main page, so as to give you some inspiration.

NOTE: There are a couple of bands you cannot vote for, since they are currently in the aforementioned Irish Rock League, such as Ash and Snow Patrol!!!

Q: What if some members of one of my bands are hailing from Northern Ireland, but the band is based in Britain?
A: As long as the band isn’t in any other rock league yet, your vote will be accepted.

At the end of the voting period all votes will be counted and the 60 artists/bands with most votes will participate in the league. The next 68 bands in the final ranking (depending on the number of votes) will participate in the Knock-Out Challenge (The Cup).

In case of an equal number of votes, the number of listeners, as displayed on the artist’s last.fm page, will decide about the winner (highest listener count wins).

You can vote until Thursday 14th of June 2012 19h Brussels Time and edit your votes at any time within the voting period.

If you have any questions or you are not sure whether an artists will be accepted, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

FINAL Standings (updated 15/06/2012 at 20.00 Brussels time):
    #1 - 60: League participant (The Beatles - Buzzcocks)
#61 - 128: CUP participant (Paradise Lost - Wild Beasts)
Wherever the listener count was decisive, this number is added in brackets
