Is there a general problem with accents in artist names? When I try to vote for a correction on tracks by Céline Dion or Édith Piaf, the artist field defaults to some non-existing artist with funny-looking characters in their names.

    Edit: support request

I think there's a problem with non-standard letters in general, because this also happens with a lot of Asian artists (and probably other foreign alphabets as well). E.g. Епизод㡢 is listed as a spelling suggestion for 浜崎あゆみ.

  • I always ignore it and paste what I have to suggest anyway. If you think there's a problem with storage of these information, we have to report it on Web Site Support board.

If voting for a lot of tracks, it is quite a hassle having to paste both the artist and the track names, since usually, you only want to correct one of them.

Ann Murray is being wrongly redirected to Anne Murray.

Ann Murray is a opera singer. see wikipedia article: Ann Murray

The other Anne Murray is a pop singer. see wikipedia article: Anne Murray.

    Please correct this.

Not sure if this is where this should go, but every time I try to scrobble Sunrise by Mark Lanegan, from 1994, it scrobbles the version he did with Isobel Campbell in 2010 (Sunrise)

Forgot to mention that all of my tags are correct. It used to scrobble the correct one (as seen on my page for the later version, it says I first scrobbled it on 10 Nov 2007, 3 years prior to that same version being released) but just recently started scrobbling the wrong one. Now I believe the original that I've been scrobbling for 3 years now says I haven't played it once.

PAROME should not redirect to Paramore

PAROME is an obscure Japanese group, not an American rock band. >.>

When a track is redirected to another artist, somebody has to have made a manual adjustment. I am not sure that voting is going to help.
It did help, the problem is fixed now. I wonder if it's worth trying to make changes in the opposite direction, ie. getting individual tracks to redirect to a different artist.

It may still have been manual intervention. See here.

  • Correct: エターナルレディヲ
    Incorrect: ピープルノート

For some reason the correct name is redirected to another song by the band.
Both songs are listed on their OHP.

    Joan Baez
    http://www.lastfm.de/music/Joan+Baez/_/Diamonds+And+Rust

Album title needs to be corrected ("Diamonds And Rust")
    Correct: "Diamonds & Rust"

    Source (Joan Baez's homepage):
    http://www.joanbaez.com/Discography/DAR.html

Reason: "Let's strive together to make auto-correct perfect!" ;-)

  • INCORRECT: Bam Bam
    CORRECT: Bam-Bam

    6. "Bam-Bam"

That's the way it's written on the CD artwork.

    INCORRECT: Violence Is Timeles
    CORRECT: Violence Is Timeless

That's what the recordsleeve says and the bands own website.

    INCORRECT: Sludge Feast
    CORRECT: Sludgefeast

This is a cover of Dinosaur Jr. and there records all says Sludgefeast so that is correct.

    Incorrect: The Blues Brothers
    Correct: Blues Brothers

    PS
Unfortunately the tracks and titles on their "Made in America" album page http://www.lastfm.de/music/The+Blues+Brothers/Made+In+America are incomplete and partly incorrect (acc. to Musicbrainz, and I've got the CD). How can we solve this problem?
