This group is ment to motivate people to tag releases that could qualify as one of the best metal and hard rock releases of a certain year..

The purpose of this group is to make best of charts according to the devote last.fm taggers that enjoy hard rock and metal... Also, by tagging albums this way, they're less likely to mixed up with other irrelevant non-metal and non-hard rock artists when you are simply tagging them with tags like '2011' or 'best of 2011' or etc.. This group is basicly ment as a guideline page, but if you like this concept you can offcourse join this group to show your support...

If you like to help out with tagging, please do so and follow these simple instructions:

1. Go to the page of the album you'd like to qualify
2. Click the tag button
3. Add the tag (for example) "best metal and hard rock albums of 2012" (you can copy paste this)
4. Click 'Save'

All you need to do :)

So remember, the more albums you tag, the more detailed the tag page will become..

For example: here are some tag pages on last.fm (but basicly you can do this for every year..)

for 2013: http://www.last.fm/tag/best%20metal%20and%20hard%20rock%20albums%20of%202013

for 2012: http://www.last.fm/tag/best%20metal%20and%20hard%20rock%20albums%20of%202012

for 2011: http://www.last.fm/tag/best%20metal%20and%20hard%20rock%20albums%20of%202011

for 2010: http://www.last.fm/tag/best%20metal%20and%20hard%20rock%20albums%20of%202010

etcetera...

NOTE: tagging has begun recently and results will only be visible when multiple people tag, that why it might take a couple of days before we see any details on the tag pages, so all tagging help is welcome offcourse!

I decided to go add band connections, but only popular releases of the current year, so only artists that released an album in 2012 (work in progress ofcourse)

indeed some new albums are not added yet to the top albums section which is pretty hard for people to find a link, but then again, there is actually not really a problem since people can actually type in the url of the album page, just add "/albumname" behind the url of the main last.fm page for an artist (for example: http://www.last.fm/music/Soulfly/Enslaved ). Too bad not many people know this...

I have noticed many people tag songs with this tag. Last.fm's system to locate the album pages sucks, so I believe this can be a problem if they end up being mixed on the charts.

i see some people that are already tagging for other years, great job guys! Will try and do some efforts aswell for other years, would be cool if we could get to the 80s with this :D Anyways, tag pages can only be created from the moment someone actually tags an album with this specific tag, so i guess everyone knows what to do when you have some free time ;) But lets start with the more recent years first shall we :)
