Hi , can i have a mirror of lastfm py?. Thanks you

  • blastfm

The source code for the blastfm symbian pys60 client is now at http://sourceforge.net/projects/blastfm

  • Don't know if this is a silly question, but will it work on a Viewty...?

  • aspyplayer - pyS60 scrobbling player

I'm developing a S60 client for Last.fm. The first beta release (ugly UI and barely working with lot of bugs) can be found at:

    http://code.google.com/p/aspyplayer/

It is able to basic playing and to create a history of the tracks played and send them to last.fm when online.

Any kind of feedback (bug report, python patches, comments) are welcome.

  • Aspyplayer installing instructions

doug_fernando - symbiansigned.com recently changed the policy for developer's certificates and it's imposible to get it without publisher ID. And it's impossible to open-sign sis-file with UID not issued to user.

Here is short installation guide (I'll explain how to install Python as well - not everybody is hardcore user / S60 developer):

    1. Installing Python for S60
    a. Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/pys60
    b. Go to download tab - there are 2 things you will need:
    - PythonForS60
    - PythonScriptShell
Select a package for your s60 version (you can find OS version of all Nokia devices here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/matrix_s60_1.html)
    c. Install them to memory card in order from point b (Python interpreter and applications must be on same drive - I recommend memory card)
    d. Create folder: e:\Python

    2. Installing aspyplayer
    a. Go to http://aspyplayer.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/
    b. Download aspyplayer.py and now_playing_bg.jpg
    c. Copy these to e:\Python

    3. Running aspyplayer
    a. Start Python (it is in Applications folder - snake icon)
    b. Select options->Run script
    c. Select aspyplayer.py
    d. Enjoy :)

Of course somebody may advise you to create the package from source, get UID for it and open-sign it.

Anyway application seems great, really scrobbles tracks to last.fm. There are some bugs but it's normal for applications in early stage. Anyway I haven't seen anything dangerous yet - Python scripts are safer for device then compiled C++ code.
Hope to see it signed by test house soon. :)

So the scrobbling is only for those tracks played on the Last.fm radio? Hmm. Was hoping for something for an app for the tracks on my memory card...

  • "scrobbling is only for those tracks played on the Last.fm radio?"

this is true for blast.fm player but not for aspy player

Vodafone scrobbler works also very nice (also works with other providers i believe)
Also the Mecanto client and service is nice. You can upload your music collection to your Mecanto account, and stream it to your phone with the client (or to any pc with internet connection). Very handy if you can't put your entire collection to your phone.
