  I saw the question about how I got into soul music so here it is: Growing up in music city in on the West side it was all real nice with a big house and on my way to private school and be a jock I guess I was like a lot of other 6th graders listening to top 40 AM radio, but things changed when my parents split up and I was bussed over into the deep ghetto of Nashville just off Jefferson Street. The first day of school I met a black dude that was the coolest nicest cat I could have met, I'll never forget when he brought records to school and we got to listen to them- it was Smiling Faces that he played and it grew from there into the 70's where soul was so good, in high school a guy asked me what music I liked and and I said "Skin Tight" he couldn't believe it. I saw AWB, Raydio, the Commodores, LTD, Rick James and War, all my good friends shared a love of soul/r&b music that just stays with you. This is a cool website so I'm glad to be in the Superfly Soul Group- Lets Party!-Woody
