Simple really. 30 seconds is not enough. If Last FM doesn't give us back full track streaming on demand, then we're out of here and taking our money somewhere else.

It's been said that for every person who speaks up, there's 10 more like them who don't. So even though as of this writng there are but 30 members in this group, multiply by 10, add 30, and we've got 330 subscribers for whom Last FM has ceased to be useful enough to pay for. A mere $10,000 per year. But add to that the fact that amongst the subscribers who found full tracks on demand vital to their Last FM experience - those are the ones who bought music, built playlists, wrote journal entries, and shared tracks and events with their friends. The ability to do most of these things has been severely hampered, and personally, I've lost the desire to build community for Last FM considering how seriously they ruined the experience.

Well, I've got my full track streaming back, sort of, with the last fm free music player, but since it's not last fm providing it, this group remains. A small reminder of what used to be. And I will remain along with it.

Have we gained anything? I was prepared to pay up to £10.00 a month for a decent subscription service with on-demand plays, decent community interaction and no advertising. I'm paying £3.00 a month to a third party for the first, I've lost the second because I no longer see who's coming to my page, and I'm sick of the bloody adverts. If I subscribe again, I'll still be paying less than I was prepared to, and I might start meeting new people again. Sorry Guys. the big boys win again :(

So I canceled my automatic subscription through pay pal and what happens? I get charged again...I swear when it comes to automatic payments anything - hardly anyone or anything can get things right. Had the same problem with my car payment and I was charged twice for the same month on a car payment. Grrr.... Trying to get it straight....

Maybe there were some reasons to renew my subscription which ends by the end of june. But I'm in a huff. Got hurt and now I'm in a huff. I've been muted. 3 days later unmuted. No explanation. No apology. I don't spend my money for such treatment. But I'm not resentful forever. I'll subscribe again, the very day full-track-streaming returns.

Thanks ZodRau, that's roughly what I meant but how nice is that? When I set my stuff free, I don't make any money. That's certainly not going to hurt me but how many artists that need or want the cash are going to follow me? I reckon we should strike again ; )

Full-track streaming is back for unsigned artists. While this is nice for them, the 30 second preview restriction remains for signed artists. Not worth my subscription.

Full track streaming is only back for artists that set their music free. I doubt that you'll find well known bands in full length

Scrobble as you please, though participating in the strike seems a happy medium between my extremism and continuing to give CBS a record of your listening habits for free.
