    Top 4

    1) Hans Zimmer
    2) Alan Silverstri
    3) Wu Lai Wap
    4) J. Peter Robinson

  • My favorites are Danny Elfman, Joe Hisaishi (c'mon, you doesn't like "Kodamas"?), and John Williams. Howard Shore's soundtracks for LOTR might just be my favorites of all time ("Lothlorien" is amazing). I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nino Rota! His Godfather score is one of my favorites!

  • You're right! Lothlorien is just sublime. An amazing piece of music, as is all of the haunting, Elvish-influenced score on the soundtracks.

    Nobuo Uematsu
    Klaus Badelt

hmm maybe more but a favourite is always hard to say.

  • It's Jeremy Soule.
I just love all the beautiful sounds he creates. The Morrowind and Oblivion soundtracks are his best work imo. His music fits perfect in the games, and a lot of his music is also very relaxing.

I love so many soundtracks and composers, but top two would have to be Thomas Newman and Danny Elfman.

The American Beauty score is an eargasm.

    Korean Composer:
    Bang Jun-Seok

  • No-one's mentioned Frank Klepacki?! Die! His stuff is like uber trance, techno often fused with metal... Some of his work with Jarrid Mendelson is really cool as well.

I'm also looking for artists sounding like Nobuo Uematsu's rock/metal stuff, if anyone could recommend some to be, I'd be really grateful. :)

  • I definitely love Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, Mark Mothersbaugh, Akira Yamaoka

John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Taku Iwasaki, Harry Gregson-Williams, Nobuo Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi,

hmm I just copied Garonthium and deleted Akira Yamaoka because I'm not familiar with his work - now I have to go check it out. I really have to give Taku Iwasaki special mention though because his work on Rurouni Kenshin is really just balls crazy.

    Yoko Kanno & Yuki Kajiura
If one of them's makin` the OST, I'm sure to watch the movie/anime ^-^
John Williams and Harry Gregson-Williams are quite talented too. :)

  • Definitely Danny Elfman.
Clint Mansell is also pretty brilliant even though Doom was rather plainsounding, cant wait for his score on The Fountain though.
