Always loved Sly & Family Stone songs I knew, but a few months ago I dove headfirst into the entire discography and realized how insanely important and beautiful this band was. Much love to Sly!

Just wondering how the Weekly Top artist section works. I love Bowie but don't ever pidgeonhole Sly with him. But it does get me to thinking what other artists are like Sly? Personally none imo. Stevie Wonder and Funkadelic are obvious contemporaries but Stevie could be more poppy and was definitely more keyboard orientated for obvious reasons. Funkadelic just messy sometimes. Just been listening toGil Scot Heron and I think vocally he is very similiar to Sly.
