  • Looking forward to album list...or just new stuff your spinning thread.

Just somewhere to put what you are looking forward to or are actually just listening to and want to tell us.

New Ryan Tanner EP is great stuff.....new Megafaun S/T album is 'meh'......new Deer Tick 'Divine Providence' is still being decided upon....new Brown Bird "Salt for Salt' is unfortunately still being decided on....Radical Face's 'The Family Tree: The Roots' is good as is the new Small Houses' 'North'.

Oh, and the new A.A. Bondy 'Believers' is pretty damn good....

    you?

  • the new blind pilot

I saw that the new blind pilot album just came out. I'm going to give it a listen.

  • I don't get that A.A. Bondy album at all. It just doesn't have any stand-out tracks and easily drifts into the background.

Recent standouts for me include South of Lincoln (your rec) and Jason Anderson's "Summer Style". "Summer Style" is an acoustic album that manages to capture the energy of his previous electric albums.

Still digesting the new Meg Baird release, but it seems solid in the Marissa Nadler school of female singer-songwriters.

  • @TheFlexMachine - I have heard that about the AA Bondy new one from others as well. I dunno, I just like it...it isn't exactly acoustic or anything but it has an aura or vibe it gives off (whatever that means) and I kinda dig it.

The South of Lincoln releases this year are both great - that guy kills me. I also tried that Jason Anderson but it didn't click right away so I moved on, I might need to revisit.

I just posted on Stripmall Ballads as I realized I didn't have an EP from a couple years back - any Lo-Fi singer songwriter fans should check it out!

  • Listening to a great female folk group called The Weather Station. Daniel Romano assisted on the album and contributes backing vocals, so if you like his stuff you'll probably like The Weather Station as well.

  • Any love for the new Ryan Adams album out there - I think I kinda like it...

There is like 4 tracks on the new Feist release that are above average Feist tracks....would have made an excellent EP for sure.

@TheFlexMachine - yes, I have been following The Weather Station for a while, the new album is pretty good...the previous album "The Line" was excellent.

  • I actually like the Feist release. It's much different than what I was expecting. "Sea Lion Woman" was my favorite song off of "Reminder", so I appreciate the direction of "Metals" and love the song "A Commotion".

I think I've been burned one too many times by sketchy Ryan Adams releases, but on your recommendation I'll check it out.
