There are some Muse songs however which have a pop format in order to get radio play. But most bands have at least 1 song on every album in this fashion, for example The Widow on Frances the Mute by The Mars Volta.

Also, the Monkey's pacing is fantastic.

Pop is only a loser genre because there it lacks 1) light shows 2) turntables and 3) Armin Van Buuren

but i like the monkeys' 2nd album even better, theyve got more diverse emotions in them, like the song 505 oops, how come Muse is pop? i do think it a bit strange that Muse can be so popular regardless of their 'perverted' music...maybe they r too diversed that everyone can find a song to love~anyway, i love every song of theirs

wow, this is just the group im thinking of! sth went wrong with my account and all my scrobbled songs cannot be displayed in my profile, or u'll c wat i listen to is just wat this group is about~ i fell in love with Muse almost a year after i liked them...when i took a 2nd listen to Supermassive blackhole and all the other songs, I found myself really addicted! and Matt is almighty!

I do like Stockholm Syndrome, heard it live today on [V], hadn't really given Muse a chance but that convinced me to blow the dust of my copy of Absolution and take another look at it.

as I've stated before, I think that absolution is pure garbage. it's a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake.

Back to Arctic Monkeys. I love their first album. However, the new one is lame. It's boring and doesn't have that many catchy tunes. The only good tracks on it are Brianstorm, which is mediocre, and Fluorescent Adolescent. For Muse though, Absolution and Origin of Symmetry are my favorites. Their new songs are good, but IMO not as good as their old ones.

i had been listening to muse since 1999 and in fact, supermassive black hole seems the only good song muse has recorded since origin of symmetry era. (absolution is the emptiest album i have ever listened and since, i had lost my faith in them). by the way, better connections could start with pavement, belle & sebastian, tindersticks maybe?

That's a good group name and I would really love to contribute but, seeing the music connections and discussions about Muse did make me think if this group was such a joke? Muse is a pop trio who are below mediocre and I don't think they even deserve to get criticised seriously

how do brianstorm and fluorescent adolescent sound the same?

  • senatas

Yeah, first album of them was more better. The new one is very boring because of it's uniformity - all songs sounds the same for me.

The Arctic Monkey's lead singer is a great lyricist though.

oh hey, let's try and compare muse to every band.

The Arctic Monkeys...I just don't get the fuss. They're not stunning musically and their lead singer is annoying. I don't care if it's 'natural' or whatever, it's just not good singing. Good luck to them, though.

I think Arctic Monkeys are pretty great. The Killers, not so much. Their new album is not good at all, and there were only a few decent songs on Hot Fuss.

the killers were good before they got mainstream, artic monkeys are alright, i couldn't listen to a straight album of them.
