She played another one right after that. Unfair.

  • CiarantheJack

Gosh, that is one sad song. It think it would be hard to play it and not cry.

    December 2013
  • rougenoir

There, there ... I've been trying very hard, but noticing that she was rather close to tears herself (or sounded like it at least) made that a very impossible plan.

    December 2013
  • rougenoir

She did. And she cried ... awww. So rude, I promised myself I wouldn't, but so did I. We've bought some CDs of the support band and they tried talking to us. I didn't answer, how embarassing ... but luckily I had my cousin to take care of that. So all in all it was very awesome. She even almost played 'Run to the Hills' hahaha.

I read! I read! also I jealous. Did she break out her ukelele?

    November 2013
  • rougenoir

Went to Amanda Palmer concert and it was great ... even though nobody will read it ;).

    November 2013
  • rougenoir

I've kept my Amanda Palmer ticket when the tour was cancelled so I have one for November. That's the only concert for me this year I presume. But what is Pubblepop? Never heard of that.

    August 2013
  • CiarantheJack

No festivals, today I am sad we are missing The Eels, Eminem and several other really good acts at Pubblepop this wkend. All it would have taken is one day off work too. Oh well. going The National later in yr so YAY for that.

    August 2013
  • rougenoir

Same here too. No festival and still the same country ... and got nothing done either. Apart from finally finding a single flat to avoid roommates, yaaaay.

    July 2013
  • EfektJoJo

No festivals for me either and it's a crying shame as I really wanted to go to rock werchter this year. Oh well, I shouldn't be surprised, nothing ever goes according to plan :|

    July 2013
  • rougenoir

I was invited to go to Wacken again, but I thought about moving to another country then ... if I find a place for an internship ... so no festivals for me.

    May 2013
  • CiarantheJack

so anyone going to any festivals this yr?

    May 2013
  • rougenoir

Indeed ... the shower is working again but that silly last.fm thing doesn't. My feet are cold and I started hating accounting stuff since I can't keep it in mind ... maaaah. No, I don't think the shower alone can make up for all that ;).

    January 2013
  • EfektJoJo

ha, i see a lot has happened here since last time i visited. For example last/fm radio stopped working, *&^%^%$!!!! At least the shower still works. Uhm.

    January 2013
  • rougenoir

Our shower is not working properly though ... but I found a nice place for you: In a huge cardbox.

    January 2013
  • mijji

I will happily take it. Then I'll even have a working Last.fm radio next year... [angry grunt]

    December 2012
  • rougenoir

You can have mine. It's always warm and I'm almost sure there aren't many people in it at the moment.

    December 2012
  • mijji

That would have sounded like an awesome suggestion a couple days ago, but then I actually had wine and don't want any more in a long time. And I, for now, only want a warm apartment! I don't care what country it is in.

    December 2012
  • rougenoir

Move here, alcohol is horribly unexpensive in Germany ... even wine. I have some cheap wine here ... while that's for my little party I'll have on friday ... but, anyway. I'd like to somewhen move to another country just because I think it would be exciting because it's in a way different to Germany and I'd learn another language and see new places and not meet new people because I'd stay home all the time, hehe.

    December 2012
  • mijji

Quite a few pending members we seem to have.

    December 2012
  • mijji

Oh no, beer :( I could do some wine now... Even though it's not cheap here either.

    December 2012
  • EfektJoJo

I grew up in Poland, but spent the most important part of my life (so far) in Italy, which was rather nice, especially because the wine was so cheap. Now that I live in Benelux I will have to drink beer. Oh, terrible hardships I must withstand!

    December 2012
  • mijji

Sounds rather nice, that moving around a lot. What country did you grow up in? And yes, I've listened to the newer one too. That's actually the one that introduced me to Florence.

    December 2012
  • EfektJoJo

I've plenty of time 'cause I change countries too often and therefore cannot keep a steady job. Once i settle in a place and am comfortable enough to start working I move to another country. @Mijiji Florence and the Machine new album is quite ok not as good as the first one tho. Harvey would (and did) disagree on that but he's not here anymore to say it. Also I have been listening to new mumford and sons' album which sounds pretty much like the old one, only worse.

    December 2012
  • CiarantheJack

I been listening to Kirsten Hersh a lot lately. quite good. and old

    December 2012
  • CiarantheJack

intriguing; mysterious flower shop users... I am going to go watch the Amanda Palmer cover Rouge posted and report back. i am excited about it.

    December 2012
  • mijji

Do tell me if you find him. His username was 'ultimate007', which only seems to be very common...

    December 2012
  • rougenoir

I have no idea how Florence an the Machine sounds like, so I can't be of any help here. But I could try and find the flower shop guy. I'm at least in the right country ;).

    November 2012
  • mijji

I'm assuming Harvey is that deleted user ghost on the forums. It's always weird when someone who you only know as an user on some site/IM disappears. I used to chat and play a lot with a really nice German guy who owned a flower shop, but I have no clue what happened to him :( And since then I have secretly wanted to set up my own flower shop, hehe. Hmm, yes, music. I need something new, too. A new Florence + The Machine maybe.

    November 2012
  • rougenoir

I'm quite sure he is, which is why it looks I've been spamming everything here on my own. I've been listening to quite a lot of new things recently (and old things I haven't been listening to for ages). It's kind of a hobby for me to go through the 'similar artists' and funny band names or pictures. Unfortunately I haven't really listened to all of them yet. And why do you have plenty of time? I'd be glad if you resumed your last.fm activity ... do it! :)

    November 2012
  • EfektJoJo

I've got plenty of time so it would be a good moment to resume my last fm activity. Only I haven't been listening to anything new recently. Also, is it only an impression or is harvey really gone?

    November 2012
  • rougenoir

Yay, let's revive this group then!

    November 2012
  • mijji

Oh. ..Oooh. I only now realised that I've been accepted into this group that I semi-accidentally applied to and wasn't even eligible of joining then. Well, I am now, so I hope it doesn't matter. Top hats!

    I recently discovered Chinawoman.

anyone got any new musuc or anyhtin

    October 2012
  • rougenoir

Indeed. There's lots of stuff going on here. And we've also lost a member.

    August 2012
  • CiarantheJack

    ahem...

    August 2012
  • rougenoir

Probably very good to calm down. One can not knit angrily I guess. But then again, it's way too long ago so I don't remember. If not, I will have to invent angry knitting for Germans.

    January 2012
  • CiarantheJack

I imagine knitting to be rather good for a person's mental health. Or is that cos i just associate it with smiling grannies? though i do know other young folks who knit.

    January 2012
  • rougenoir

I like knitting and I'm watching tv online. I'm almost normal then.

    January 2012
  • CiarantheJack

Harvey, u'd just have to find a newsagent who do not bother put it up so high, one beside a school is a good bet. Rouge, u'd prob just do what ppl do what don't be on internet so much do, i.e. watch more rubbish tv and maybe knit

    January 2012
  • rougenoir

Bloody hell no! I'd die without it ... although thinking about all the things I thought I couldn't live without and the songs I'm listening to which tell me that I won't die ... maybe I'd just read and study lots, have more friends (or less, depends on how long they possibly can bear me as a 'real' person who always pretends to be happy if she doesn't pretend to be just angry) and do other things that might make me good at them by practicing. Basically ... I don't want the internet to die.

    January 2012
  • CiarantheJack

I'd just like to point out I now think Kim Dotcom should be a supreme ruler of some sort. and I also I reckon someone should kill the internet, I is sick of it.

    January 2012
  • rougenoir

If that really works, I should get the album so I can fall asleep earlier than I usually do these days.

    January 2012
  • CiarantheJack

Harvey, thank you, No Light, No light is indeed a great track. the rest make me sleepy at best.

    January 2012
  • EfektJoJo

I must say I agree with Ciaran this time... Florence is a lovely woman, stylish and all, but sometimes she is just like she's in love with her vintage clothes and with the sound of her own voice and nothing other than that. And it's true, she can sing anything and make it sound good but it's not the point. The first album had that kind of slightly desperate power to it (it always makes me think of a person who's just out of an abusive relationship and feels both distraught and empowered... or something stupid like that). It was very very catchy too but there was a depth to it. Whereas Celebrations, it's like listening to a fashion show, if you know what I mean. Probably you don't. Oh, well. But now I'm going to listen to it again, just to be sure. Happy new year to anyone who bothered to read it all.

    January 2012
  • rougenoir

Merry Christmas to everyone who is reading that early enough. We managed to not have a fight or something similar to that this year, yay, progress.

    December 2011
  • CiarantheJack

@Harvey, I am delighted to hear someone likes it! I just find it to be sorta in second gear compared to the first. Maybe I don't like happyish songs so much! Maybe it aint that happy, but that fecking "Shake it Out" thing just annoys me and seems like a third hand gospel song (I quite like gospel songs too!)

    December 2011
  • rougenoir

I have one album, I think ... but I never listened to it. I was going to write about downloading lot's of Boekbinder stuff, while I like Zoe better now (still downloaded the songs Kim did with Amanda Palmer). Maybe about being crazy abou The Jane Austen Argument and finally finding some songs of 'The Gadsdens' (unfortunately not 'I killed love' but somehow buying more than only two songs of them seems impossible) ... but hmmm .... lazyness ...

    December 2011
  • CiarantheJack

So.., Florence and the Machine's new album,,,, pretty rubbish I think. Whats worse is I downloaded the delux edition with about 5 extra songs...... Any one like it? Maybe its not that bad but its so monotone and dulled compared to the other one.
