This group created to honor a great family of Baroque composers: Alessandro Scarlatti and his sons, Domenico Scarlatti and Pietro Filippo Scarlatti.

Alessandro Scarlatti (May 2, 1660 – October 24, 1725) was an Italian Baroque composer especially famous for his operas and chamber cantatas. He is considered the founder of the Neapolitan school of opera. He was the father of two other composers, Domenico Scarlatti and Pietro Filippo Scarlatti.

Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti (October 26, 1685 – July 23, 1757). He is classified as a Baroque composer chronologically, although his music was influential in the development of the Classical style. He was the sixth of ten children and a younger brother to Pietro Filippo Scarlatti, also a musician. Most probably he first studied under his father, the composer and teacher Alessandro Scarlatti.

Pietro Filippo Scarlatti (January 5, 1679 - February 22, 1750) was an Italian composer, organist and choirmaster. The eldest of Alessandro Scarlatti's children -. In 1728 his only opera Clitarco was premiered at Naples (the score has gone missing). Other main works include three cantatas and a multitude of keyboard toccatas (one of which has been recorded by Luciano Sgrizzi). (photo unavailable)

    hi, this group, like ANY OTHER on last.fm radio, needs the Group's Music Recommendation Link back again. last.fm recommendations instead can't be the equivalent to the loss! are there any activities going on on this issue??

    D. Scarlatti currently has 404 tracks on my playlist, 23.15% by play frequency. So you could say I like his music. However, a lot of that consists of mediocre-quality recordings, and I'd kind of like to upgrade some of them. Does anyone have recommendations of specific albums that are of particularly high quality?
