Scandinavian folk/medieval?

  • Scandinavian folk/medieval?

Does anyone have any recommendations of Scandinavian folk, folk rock or medieval bands with female singers?

I already know: Garmarna, Gjallarhorn, Ranarim, Två fisk och en fläsk, Triakel and Värttinä.

    Thanks :)

  • Try Scandinavian Music Group. Missä olet Laila? and Palatkaa Pariisiin! albums.

now you don't want me to go home cause you're afraid that you might get sick

Well, I cant say that medievel folk/ folkrock is a favourit genre of mine. (And with that said I hope you understand that "black metall Viking hard rock" is a genre I don't really listen to att all). But I want to repeat one group name already mentioned: Garmarna.

    Also try Lumsk!

  • @Jenna-anna - thanks :)

@LaurenStyle - oh, I forgot Lumsk! I already know them, thanks anyway :)

  • You might also be interested in Eivør Pálsdóttir. Since you are a subscriber, be sure to play Scandinavian Girls: folk and maybe Scandinavian Girls: metal :)

  • I didn't even think about playlists, thanks :D

Will check out Eivør Pálsdóttir if I can :)

Angelit / Angelin tytöt and Mari Boine and perhaps the first three albums by Indica Ikuinen virta, Tuuliset tienoot and Kadonnut puutarha.

I get most of my videogame/anime soundtracks from Galbadia Hotel
  • This thread is relevant to my interests

Let me just add Kurbits, who occasionally use a female vocalist. Listen to "Sorgens Makt" and "Ack Skönaste Morgon".

  • You should try Indica, especially older albums. They sing finnish, but they also made one album in english (english versions of their songs).

Edit. Should've read better, DorianG was two year faster than me haha :P

  • Lena Willemark! Agram.
