Description:
Are you sick of people ruining the tags? You know, people who tag Alicia Keyes as "80s", Linkin Park as "lounge", Metallica as "classical", and Radiohead as, well, everything?

Me too! Join up...

Tags have been so ruined that they are useless. I haven't had to urge to listen to one in a long time. It happens whenever you let the public have access without any kind of moderator or rules. And that's my final thought. Group radio, on the other hand...

I'm not sick of it. I just find it rather funny that I see Dizzee Rascal and Lady GaGa tagged as 'post-industrial'. xP

I've never had a problem either way with tags. I don't label any, and I never follow any. I've never had any use for tags. They're worthless to me. Hell, the only reason I clicked on this group was because of the vague, undesctiptive title "Ruining It For Everyone". 'Ruining what?', I wondered. Anyway, apparently, for some reason, so many feel they need them, so I guess I'll have to agree that it's pretty sad that there are kids who have nothing better to do than make fake tags or opinionated tags, like 'this band sucks' or labeling something 'emo' if they don't deem it as badass enough for their particular taste. Now, 'music i listen to'. That's one of the most worthless tags one can make, but I've seen them. I also agree with what was said below me, about the 'classic rock' tag. Also worthless. 'classic rock' is an opinion, not a genre.

Why would anyone love ruining something just to ruin it? I don't get it. If your enjoyment comes from wrecking someone else's enjoyment, then perhaps some major help is in order, like strong meds or ongoing intense therapy. Also, weird tags are not ruining anything.

I'm not sure what you mean with 'global tagging'. If you mean artist tagging then maybe, but I'm betting tags support various interesting things. Work on tag spam detection would be good. Or maybe being able to weigh tags by trust, on a user level. Any actual tag editing feature would be nice too. Even a remover, and a renamer as simple as delicious', would be nice. I miss the profile editor:/

Lazytown has the best tags ever. It would appear that 4chan attacked them.

I hate when groups decide to have a 'group tag' that will guide people back to their page. It's so fucking annoying and has nothing to do with the music. GAH
