Rockbox is an open source replacement firmware for mp3 players.

Rockbox runs on a number of different models:

# Apple:1st through 5.5th generation iPod, iPod Mini and 1st generation iPod Nano (not the Shuffle, 2nd/3rd/4th gen Nano, Classic or Touch)
# Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
# Cowan: iAudio X5, X5V, X5L, M5, M5L, M3 and M3L
# iRiver: H100, H300 and H10 series
# Olympus: M:Robe 100
# Toshiba: Gigabeat X and F series
# SanDisk: Sansa C200 and E200 series

Sansa clip+ rockboxed it's great you can also remove OF crap that's takin' up to 200 mb of space, but the thing that really bothers me is dsp hiss comin' out of jack, any one have solution for that?

Scroblr.net is my new preferred way to submit scrobbling logs. Makes it easier to not submit dupe and incomplete tracks.

Sansa Clip+ 8gb with Rockbox and QTScrobbler fulfills my portable scrobbling needs perfectly. Wide array of settings is also a plus.

Got it to work on the ipod classic 120gb. Pain in the neck to instal, but its not that bad if you have jailbroken an itouch/iphone.

For those who don't visit the site regularly, Rockbox 3.8.1 was recently released. It is a bugfix release that addresses some issues with the recent 3.8 release.

I have Rockbox to thank for reviving my Sansa Clip. The screen on it one day decided to never work again, however after loading voice files to dictate folder names and the navigation fields I can once again listen to music on the go!
