If you feel like it, help to keep the memory of Chris Tetley, the legendary (and sadly neglected) rock journalist and DJ alive: http://www.lastfm.se/group/Remembering+Chris+Tetley

At last for us UK TV viewers there is some heavy metal of note on BBC 4 this week. Tonight (Thursday March 4th) they are showing the Iron Maiden film, Flight 666 and on Friday 5th, its "Heavy Metal Britannia", "Heavy Metal Britannia at the BBC" and then more Maiden with an hour of live footage from the Somewhere back in time live tour. Very apt that it is being shown so close to the anniversary of Tommy's passing... he would be chuffed. Can't believe that he has been gone 5 years now. Rock on Tommy.

Nice to find that others are keeping Tommy's memory alive! I have a huge slice of my record collection over the years to thank Tommy for. In my student years of the late 70's when cash was tight, being able to sit and listen to 2 hours of great music on a Friday night was heaven. I have some lists of shows that I had on tape back then and when I read through them I found that I had bought about 70% of all that I heard on the shows... he played a wide and diverse range of material right from the start and from the point of view that a fan would have. he enthused about what he played and that came though and rubbed off on anyone that listened to the show. Rock on Tommy!!!! Sadly missed but never forgotten.
