Floridians who want more, dammit.

Don't you hate it when your most-loved band won't play farther south than Atlanta, if they even play in the South at all?

Ever had to drive out-of-state to see a band perform? Ever get dismayed by the expense of gasoline and hotel rooms, and wind up not going? Ever get cranky that Florida winds up getting shafted on the tour circuit because we're just so out-of-the-way? Ever get moody because your southern city gets the cold shoulder in favor of some podunk town in Wyoming?

Then this group is for you.

For those Floridians who've experienced the joy of finding out that their favorite artist, group or band is on tour, only to have that joy stolen like the fragile innocence of a child upon realizing the tour doesn't include their sweaty, sun-drenched state.

Fellow Floridians (and those who claim allegiance to other states and locations but somehow wound up here through convoluted means or circumstances), share in our tales of frustration and woe, punctuated by brief respites when musicians actually do make it down to play in our towns and cities. Ah, the elation!

Also, feel free to share any other music- or Florida-related insight, thought, query, exclamation or snark. We're all friends here. Well, except for that guy who brought the shitty beer over there who's visibly drinking the Red Hook Blonde Ale someone else came with. You, sir, must go. And take your damn Busch beer with you.

    Hmmm. I thought Revolution and The Culture Room were in Ft. Lauderdale? 'Cuz I have to drive for about an hour to get there, and I live in Miami. Anyways. I'm so glad this page exists because I've felt the same exact way forever. Miami sucks.

    I am traveling to Miami, to stay there for the nights of January 14 and 15 (Thursday and Friday). I would like to take in some live music on one of those nights, and I like a lot of different kinds of music (but not all). If it was a great show, I might even figure a way to get to Ft. Lauderdale for it. I have looked around and haven't seen anything except for a gig at The Culture Room in Lauderdale that isn't for me. If anyone has any suggestions, please message me. Thanks!
