"this 'ouse" and "wrecking crew" in December

  • I jump whenever she goes "so sweet and JOOOCY!" in That Time xD

I love the way her voice is so versatile - she can be practically shouting (like in Your Honor from Soviet Kitsch) and she can be crooning so softly (like in The Call and Samson).

  • beat boxing in chemolimo

    im a cat ^-^ pow! H3110M30w

in ode to divorce if you listen very closely she goes " so break me to small partsssss" thats probably my favourite.

but another one that i really like is "yo mama was here" from prisoners.

and i know they are not vocal quirks but i really like the "oooh ooooh oohs" in fidelity when she sings it live, and the "do do do's" in One More Time With Feeling :)

    i just OD'ed.
  • Aw jeez, I'm having trouble thinking of one that hasn't been said. Regina's vocal quirks are one of the top perhaps 3 things that attracted me to her in the beginning, and made her stand out against all the other female solo vocalists out there.

OH! Here's one. The third verse in Consequence of Sounds has a whole BUNCH of 'em that give me shivers.

    The kinda slurred part:
"whajja THANK, all the grave diggas was GUN"

    Of course, this part:
    "SQEAK-ee clean!"

    and similar:
"POSS-ible leakage from news publications and,
POSS-ible leakage from news TV stations"

    And the wailed:
"and we're FLOODin' but WE keep on CUTTin' the TREES in the FORest"

I also like the wails that turn into vocal percussion between the second and third verses:
"Aaah-ahh-aah-aah-ahhhhh bun chicka bun chicka bunbunbow bun"

A thought occurs: does she have ANY song that doesn't have a vocal quirk in it? I don't think she does.

All "vocal - quirks" from "Prisoners" and "Pavlov's Daughter" are awesome. "Uh-merica is also great.

Like, the whole of Pavolv's Daughter.

    Regin-ah Regin-ah Regin-ah ah ahhhhhh.

    Exactly! (:

  • Definatly beat box in chemolimo, right outtamy mouth fridge boy

  • "Maybe you should cut your own hair, 'cause that can be so funny" - from Ghost of Corporate Future

Just the way she says 'funny" is just so undeniably cute.

Also the "my solo" in Dance Anthem of the 80s

Yes, hello, my name is Graham Wellington.
  • "Pavlov's Daughter": the scatting, right after "oh, oh, oh, oh", "temperature, -ture, -ture", how she says "quieter" (quiet-al) and her Bronx accent.

And I love how she randomly hits a high or low note in her songs. :) "I live downstairs"

  • I love the trills on "Lounge", I literally almost lol'ed when I heard it for the first time. :) Also, the stops on "Us".

I obviously don't know the proper english words for these, heh.

  • In Mermaid she sings 'shubidubidubidubidubida', etcetera. That sounds sooo cool! <3

  • towards the end of "sailor song" when she says sheeeeeeeeeeeee (2:29 - 2:37) and at the end of she her voice gets all frizzled - i dont know how to explain it but yea :]

in "us" when she says liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiving in a den of thieves

in "chemo limo" the way she says style

and in "wasteside" how she says sleepin and it fades into like a groan (1:43 - 1:49)

  • ne me quitte pas

i like how she sings "ne me qui-tte paaah" towards the end of the song. so cute!

  • my absolute favorite quirk is when she sings music box, in the end she sounds like she's puking, i laugh my ass off each time i hear that!

Pavlov's Daughter. That song has so many vocal quirks.

I'll just leave it at that.

oh man, it's taking me over.

Oh, and my personal favorite one:

    "So cheap and JOOCEE!"

oh man, it's taking me over.
  • Def. Lounge and Music Box.

When I heard "Songs" the first time I didn't really listen to most of the songs because I had to do some homework. But I stoped doing them when I heard Lounge.
    It was an awesome feeling.

And I also love the "Hey, open wide here comes original sin wwwww" in hero!

  • The way she sings the lines "Asked me if I'd read his own and whether I could spare a pound.." in 'Pound Of Flesh'

I'm not sure if its really a quirk she just tries to put on a different accent, but still me loves it! ^_^

  • I love how she makes gun noises in All the rowboats. And of course the UH in uh-merica and in Après moi. I UH must go on stan-stan ding-dong.
And the all my friends say that of course it's gonna get be-ah, etc in Fidelity.

What is your specialist subject, the right bleeding obvious?

Whenever the Russian rolling "R" comes in - can't name a song off the top of my head but then.

And Pavlov's Daughter - "My name is LUC-ee-EE-eeeee" and "Regina-ah-ah-AAHH"

  • The 'spit-sound' from 'Daniel Cowman': 'The premature ejaculation of his death
sentence hit Daniel in the face like a big round spitball HWK-PFFFFF!'

"I know that the times are rough but I won't play dead while I'm alive!"

In 'Open' or 'Down the Road and Up the Hill' or whatever it's actually called, I love the "I <gasp> am <gasp> in a room I built myself! <gasp> Four! <gasp> Straight walls! <gasp>" :D
