I have both Hymn to Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather LPs, I wouldn't let them go for cheap but I'd probably let them go for less than what they are going for on ebay

i'll have to go to the re-releases that are out now.

where did this release come from? and what is on the demos part?

  • I got it from Hells Headbangers, put out by The Crypt. It's the album plus 12 bonus tracks - alternate versions/mixes, and demo recordings of the songs on the album. Pretty nice package. A little costly, but probably worth it if you like Gehenna (and I do, obviously).

  • yeah, Gehenna were probably one of my top 5 bands from Norway during the 90s, Second Spell easily rates as one of my all time BM favs, Malice was great too (their last good one IMO) it'd be nice to at least hear some of the demo versions of the songs from Malice if they have a rougher edge, I'll keep this release on the backburner...who knows if I'll ever get it as I already have the CD from its initial release, but its good to know its out as I had no idea this was in the works until today,

  • Today I got:
GG Allin and the Criminal Quartet-Carnival of Excess
    Funeral Mist-Maranatha
Reverend Bizarre-Into the Rectory.../Return to the Rectory

Anti-Flesh Nimbus is an amazing fukking song.

  • The last albums I purchased were Immortalizer and Stranger when I saw Valient Thorr here in Indianapolis a couple months ago. Their sound is cocaine-spiked caveman adrenaline. Love it.

  • some Harlan Ellison books,

    bigger pic

  • Recently haven't been able to buy much music/merch, but out of the lot:

    Strid s/t compilation
Beherit - The Oath of Black Blood longsleeve

and while not strictly speaking metal, I believe a lot of people interested in extreme music would find this a good read:

Apocalypse Culture, edited by Adam Parfrey. The extreme fringes of existence, so to speak.

One of the greatest live recordings, ever. "I've wined, dined, sipped and supped in some of the most demonstrably demi-epitomable bistros in the Los Angeles metropolitan region." lulz

Yeah, Tom Waits is excellent. So far everything I've heard from him has definitely impressed me.

  • Spent a good chunk of the refund I received from Amtrak due to MDF train crazy on tapes/cds/vinyl.

    DeathevokatioN - "Blood" Demo Cassette/CDr

How is Pseudogod? I've been thinking about picking up that demo 12" SSP released awhile back.

Sawhorse - Untitled 7" (thanks for the rec on that one, Carl)
    Jeromes Dream - Completed
Eazy E - Str8 Off Tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton (gangsta as fvck)

  • Pseudogod is one of my current favorites, and the only reason I grabbed that split. I don't dislike Morbosidad or anything, but the idea of new Pseudogod tracks is what put it over other things that I wanted.

    Hell - Human Remains 2xCD

I just come to discover this wasn't a discography of all their demos, but a new album with a compilation of old demo tracks, thats kind of lame, not that I would be against a new album from these guys, but I would much prefer having a release complete with all their demos and a new album being a separate entity :-/

  • I got the version that is both. It includes the original demo versions of all the songs on another disc.

The new versions of the songs are pretty fucking good regardless...a bit more polished than I'd have preferred, but really good overall.

  • but doesn't have complete demos right? that what I was hoping for

  • No, not the complete demos.

There's a 2CD compilation titled "Anthology" that is a bootleg of their demos.
