I always wanted to watch that movie. I read the book and was pleased, so I hope the movie can deliver a somewhat similar feeling.

I remember watching this movie as a kid. The soundtrack is so calming...

I watched Noroi last week, or rather, most of it. I couldn't finish it because some of the scenes are pretty damn creepy if you're watching it in total darkness in the middle of the night. Some of the plot elements are quite absurd, but as a whole I liked what I've seen so far. 7/10

Haha, I can understand that. I perceived it as a nice fairytale story with attractive steampunk visuals, nothing more really.

  • Funny Games (2007) 4.5/5 Best psychological horror movie ever?

  • I prefer the original, but its practically the same movie, I need to see more of Haneke's movies

  • I actually went to see The Secret World of Arrietty with my girlfriend. It was a cute movie and she seemed to enjoy it more than I did. I've never been that into japanese animation but for what it was it was a respectable film

  • I thought The Secret World of Arrietty was great, it was a 'small' scale tale from Studio Ghibli and it hit the spot

  • Recently watched The Idiots and A Serbian Film.

    The Idiots - 7.5/10
I'm not too big on independent films(although I want to), but a friend recommended to me, and I found it to be somewhat entertaining, although you'd have to watch it twice or more to "get it". Nevertheless, I like realist films that are odd at the same time. It's a Danish film, but there are torrents with English subtitles.

    A Serbian Film - 7/10
Same friend recommended this film. I've been desensitized by most horror films, but this one went in a different direction. Wasn't shocked, but I figured why this film is banned in several Western countries given the subject matter I won't bother to discuss(wiki it). I hear this film always compared to The Human Centipede, but the realistic plot of A Serbian Film makes it hit a bit deeper. It's a Serbian film of course, but there are English subtitles.

  • A Serbian Film is ridiculous.

Can someone recommend psychological horror movies? I'm in the mood to shit bricks.

  • Session 9

Not really ridiculous but the high rating is ridiculous. I think a lot of counter-culture people rate it higher than it deserves just because it's considered extremely brutal, disturbing and the fact that it wasn't appreciated in the mainstream. I gave it a 4....imo the movie lacks quality acting and direction. And these are the things that for me make a movie worth watching...not just the content or theme.

I watched "Sleepy Hollow" recently and I'm surprised that I enjoyed it unlike the last time. Burton did some better movies for Sleepy Hollow gets rather predictable towards the end, but it's visual components were acted out very well, I guess it's doing the novel justice (haven't read it though).
