Automated tagging

  • Automated tagging

I would like to write an automated tagger for my music.
I am currently looking at the LastFM Player source to figure out how to set "Like/dislike" tags to tracks.

    Any hints and/or help appreciated.

Man, this is in C++! What do you expect to find? ;)
But seriously, what "tags" do you mean? ID3 tags, last.fm music tags, or something else?

The web interface (URL POST method + parameters) used to submit last.fm tags.

Last.fm tags of course. Basically I want to automatically tag all the music I listen to, without klicking around on their webinterface. The tag names would be based on playlist names and assigned genres from my iPod.

This part of audioscrobbler API was not published, so be prepared to react to unexpected changes.

See http://code.google.com/p/lastfmsvc/ -- this is my project aimed mostly at plugin writers for music players but it is usable by itself. There's example commandline program in examples package.
