What is the best Power Metal band in your country?

  • Elexorien is ok, better than Helloïse :P (not saying that much, though), but damn, why does almost every dutch band have a female vocalist. ><

  • Well, for me, it's not too difficult.

Iron Mask/Magic Kingdom and Double Diamond are awesome

You could try Defender, great Dutch band, power/speed to the core.

First Crusader is great too. Not a great country for power metal though.

Yeah, Crusader's great but more of a Double Diamond fan and we all know how godly Iron Mask is right?

Of course, but calling Magic Kingdom Belgian is actually a bit of a stretch. Petrossi is an Italian name, if I'm not mistaken, and they have Luca Turilli's vocalist and Fairyland's keyboard-player...

Well, it's based in Belgium. Petrossi himself is Belgian aswell, probably has roots somewhere in Italy. It's just the same with say Dragonforce or Firewind, most of those members have different nationalities but they are based in that country (UK and US respectively).

  • Finnish and German guys, lucky you are! you've got native best power metal bands in the world! :)

Russian best PM band - Эпидемия(Epidemia)

    Stay Clean Be True
  • From where I currently live, which is the USA, I'd say Kamelot. <3

My home country (China) doesn't have very good power metal bands, if any at all. Most of their metal scene are very underground and mostly either heavy, thrash, gothic, or black metal, I think. I might be able to find a band or so. Maybe. I'm going to go look.

Edit: Musically, I'm really liking 圣翼光环, Illusion, and The Barque of Dante

Barque of Dante doesn't have very good vocals, though. The instrumental's quite good, however. Illusion vocals are okay. No Roy Khan, obviously, and 圣翼光环 is quite interesting, mixing female opera with male harsh vocals.

  • In Brazil my favorite power metal band is Angra

  • I think that best Russian power metal band is Epidemia (Эпидемия)

I'm from the UK. I can only think of two power metal bands, DragonForce and Power Quest. They are both in my Top 10, but I'd say I like DragonForce just a little more.

  • From slovakia (but sorry is not thrue power but a really love them so...) Heľenine Oči

  • I'm from Greece, so... (you guessed it) Firewind.

  • Lost Horizon (Sweden)

And the sky that I thought that existed
I shall find it there somewhere

I'm going to have to go with Kamelot.
Or Symphony X if you want to call them progressive/power metal.

    I also didn't knew any...

But thanks to the people who reacted to this, I have to say Elexorien. Although I thought that they where battle metal, like they say on their website..

    Come on guys, cheer up!
I mean - what have you got to lose?
