  3rd gen was best competitively (followed by 1st gen), and 2nd gen had best in-game (closely followed by 3rd and 1st gen). 4th gen is completely terrible in comparison, both competitively and in-game, and I had given up on even giving 5th gen a chance after the failure that was 4th gen, plus most people backing it up that 5th gen is just as unplayable/imbalanced competitively as 4th gen is (although I heard that 5th gen's in-game is slightly better than 4th gen's). yeah, pokemon is serious business

  White is a good edition, but SoulSilver, Emerald and Platinum are nice too. My favorite is still SoulSilver because I love Jotho and the fact that you can go to Kanto.
