What they said :-D Great piece o' work! Just learning how to use it. Would like to be able to play a file or from a folder w/o adding to library. Would also like to have alternate libraries. Stream support while nice, I can live without... can always use a different app for that. This is definitely the best Mac audio player ever :-)

I would like to thank you very very much for this excellent software. Thank You!! the only thing I am curious about is apple script support, I am interested in making some external tools for displaying lyrics and changing adium statuses and such

The newest unstable versions of Play add metadata support for AIFF and WAVE.

Wow, Play is by far the best music player for OS X, it has almost everything I need in a music player & nothing more at last I have a fast player that can handle my library without breaking a sweat. Thanks Stephen you've done a great job on this.

I recently switched to Mac, and my biggest lament has been the loss of foobar2k, but I just tried Play -- and Hallelujah! It's no foobar2k (I have to be honest!), but Play is leagues above all the other Mac music players I've trieda, and I see potential in Play to become outstanding. Thanks sbooth! I really hope you keep on developing it.

Play works flawlessly on my old G4 without consuming much resource. The 31 band equalizer is awesome! Thank you!

I've been looking for a good iTunes alternative for awhile now. I had just about given up hope and was going to run Foobar2000 in something WINEish when I came across Play. I am very happy about the last.fm support, and the minimal look, feel, and footprint. I would also like to see an equalizer, and maybe a smaller control window like VLC has. Also, I really like Mac programs that can "close" (via clicking the x) without actually quitting the program. Minimizing is for browser windows and Windows users.

I'd like to see a minimal equalizer, and a volume amplifier akin to what VLC offers. On my laptop speakers sometimes Play isn't loud enough so I have to use VLC.

play doesn't crash on my 2.8GHz Intel Core Duo iMac... it's great. I use it with Airfoil to broadcast to the sound system in my house. It did begin acting strangely today: it will not advance to the next song, and it will not play a song when I double-click on it. I do not want to do a new install because I have thousands of albums in the library. So I am about to begin digging in the forums. sigh.

Play is awesome! I have a tiny portion (600) of my iTunes library (37k) on it for use while gaming, because bloaty iTunes cuts my frame rate in half (iMac G5 2Ghz). Never crashed, great sound (plays my 24 bit files deliciously), and uses very little resources. deadmanblake: care to divulge your system specs, and have you checked the forums?

TryWait, are you using iScrobbler ? If yes, uncheck "display artwork" in the preferences of iScrobbler and also, when using for the first time, do not let it creates stats about your library.

For some reason, every time a new songs begins in Play, iTunes launches. I cannot debug this weird little annoying glitch. Has anyone else experienced it?

Love Play, too! iTunes is just getting too big and bloated. Play is a breath of fresh air! :-) Also using Max to rip some music. Great combo!
