I love all the bands previously mentioned, and yes, Elton John definitely needs more attention, but you forgot the piano rock band: ColdPlay. Why in the world do I see Keane but not ColdPlay?
If you haven't listened to them, you have to. I reccomend "Trouble" and "Clocks" as good songs.

Yeah, but you wouldn't have Coldplay without Ben Folds Five you wouldn't have Jack's Mannequin/Something Corporate without Ben Folds Five either.

I saw Jack's Mannequin and Ben Folds in the same line up and all Andrew could do was rave about how Ben Folds one of his all time favorite musicians. And it deeply saddened me that most of the audience (who was -mostly -there for JM, even though BF was the headliner) had no idea who Ben Folds was.

The Fray would also not be nearly as famous without Ben Folds (and Weezer).

  • Tour de Force- New piano rock

    check it out

let us know what you think...

my favorite piano rock is most definitely ben folds five.

the sessions at west 54th st are absolutely ridiculous.
    one of my biggest influences

    You should check out

This band called "Idiot Pilot" has some piano in their songs.
    check out the songs
Glass Fields (the piano is at the very end, but it sounds nice.)
The Spartan (a really rare and hard song to find, but search on Imeem dot com. they have it on there)

there are other songs with piano, just can't really think of them.

    just check them out though,
    you might like them.
they range from some songs that are mellow
to some songs that are electronic like the song "Spark Plug" (really good song)
and to some that are just casual but good.

  • Andrew Mcmahon

anything he touches on piano turns to gold.

You should check out Andy Davis. He's not as rock as ben folds(♥) or Jack's Mannequin, but the way he adds piano to his songs makes them amazing. Try anything off the CD 'thinks of her' and it will not disappoint :)
