O103050 You are right though; that moment in a Dick book where *everything* is falling apart, looking terrible for the protagonists feels kind of "Swans". For my money i'd like to suggest The Books as an eminently Dickian band; humorous, smart, self-sabotaging and intrigued by kipple...

Even when consensus reality is failing disastrously, PKD, his characters & situations still have a sense of humour; I would say that Leo Bulero's inter-office memo is the exact opposite of Swans.

kazrk My favourite author since I found a collection of his stories in some drawer on a ship when I was 10. I liked "The Golden Man" and "The King of the Elves" best then.
