  • You might enjoy The Decemberists - Picaresque

  • Not sure if you will like it, or if you've heard it
but Either/Or by Elliottt Smith is good acoustic singer/songwriter type stuff

  • I think you might like "Queen Of Denmark" by John Grant

have you listened to Fever Ray yet?

and if that's not your thing try listening to Hot Chip's Made In The Dark all their stuff is pretty solid but that album is mad accessible.

  • The Black Heart Procession's "2" is pretty amazing... like The Decemberists, but with reverb, a Tom Waits influence, and an emo-based aesthetic.
If that's not your thing, you could always go for Joanna Newsom's "Ys"... probably have it, but it's quite otherworldly.
Talking Heads' "77" (more numbers) is a great summer album, and a classic of the CBGB's weirdo scene.

  • Have you heard Hospice by The Antlers?

Wistful, beautiful record. Quite heartbreaking at points.

    Deloreon by Deloreon

It's a great dance-y rock-y album. If you like that check out their new one Subiza that came out this year

  • If you like flying lotus; I would say "Ambivalence avenue" by "Bibio"

We all start as strangers, it's where we end up that counts
  • Uh, you would like Mantis Praying by Alvin Band.

  • Maybe "Cross" from Justice.
Just 'cause I saw some Daft Punk in there :P

  • well you like QOTSA and there is a pie chart saying you listen to stoner rock. so i'm going to recommend

    Bubblegum by Mark Lanegan

  • I saw The Shins and thought of The Weakerthans, for some reason or another. Try Left and Leaving by The Weakerthans. Or at least listen to the song 'Aside' by them.

Be who you fucking are, and say what you god damn feel.
  • maybe Rook or little more uppy-something-female Autumn Fallin'

Wearing a shirt only draws attention on my complete lack of pants.
  • I can see you like some gritty american rock.

I'm going to recommend United By Fate by Rival Schools

I checked and you didn't have any plays so i think you should check them out.

EDIT: thanks for my recommend album krimescene, I have however listened to that album before. was nice to go back to it though :)

  • I can see E and his characteristic beard in your library, but he doesn't seem to have had that much success with you (15 plays). I see that you essentially listened to Souljacker, and if I should forget one of the elements of Eels' discography, it would precisely be that one. One day, try Electro-Shock Blues. Avoid listening to it if you're somehow depressive, cause you would commit suicide short after... Not that it wouldn't be a bad music to die on ; Ian Curtis hung himself after listening repeatedly to the Idiot (by Iggy Pop). But, well, I'd better not be responsible for your death, mate ^^ !

Well, I hope you'll find the time to check this album out, and I hope that you'll like it. It doesn't seem to exactly fit your taste, but looking through your library I saw a really broad mind, so I'm pretty confident about your trying to get into that music.

I'd like to be somebody else -
  • You above me, mr, are very hard to recommend an album. BUT

I noticed in your overall top, a significant amount of Alison Krauss so I suggest to you

    Raising Sand

"And on the darker steps on Mordor...."

have you listened to Stainless Syle by Neon Neon yet? it's Gruff Rhys with an LA based techno group. it's pretty much the 80's in a single album.

if that's not your thing you seem like the kind of guy that should check out Scott 2 by the amazing Scott Walker he's the guy that made the sound that David Bowie is famous for.

    Here's a few:

Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History. Upbeat, fun music. Listen to Something Good Can Work and if you enjoy the feel of it, then you'll like the album as a whole. Usually labelled as electropop or indie pop.

Mumford And Sons - Sigh No More. In my opinion, one of the best albums released in 2009. An absolutely gorgeous piece of work, every song is good. You can sit down and listen through the entire album without wanting to skip a single song. The songs are beautiful rambling ballads. Try The Cave. Usually labelled as folk or bluegrass.

The Kills - Midnight Boom. This one is a bit more of a stretch. The Kills are the former band of Allison Mosshart who you may recognize as the lead singer for the Dead Weather. The best way I could describe them is if you took a good punk-rock band, removed the angsty pretentious feel usually associated with it, and threw in some really catchy riffs. Try Tape Song. Usually labelled as alternative indie garage rock, whatever that means.
