    One band which I think really embodies the tag emo is Cut Slit Death Wish. I mean, they took their inspiration from the genre greats but just mutated it into something unique. Seriously worth a try.

    @ churchchannel - not emo, nintendocore, albums i own, favourites - to name a few of your tags are not genres so why do you use them? You can't have double standards if you complain people can't use the Happy Emo tag because it's not a genre then I think the same should go for you and some of your tags! But seriously a tag is a tag it's not just for genres it's for anything related to a band or how a band makes you feel or like many people on LastFM a tag can be totally unrelated even.

    1. Yeah no shit we already know that! 2. Of course they are completely different sounding bands because see point one... IT'S NOT A GENRE just a tag for bands that give you happy emotions! 3. Again we all know this... the word emo in this tag is short for emotion which Happy is an obvious emotion! 4. It's not stupid maybe to you but not others. 5. You started a hate group for a tag that you completely misunderstood so again educate yourself first before you do so AND age has nothing to do with music, fashion or trends that is the both the funniest and stupidest thing I heard all month ROFL!!! 6. Because just "happy" is a boring tag imo and the beauty of the tag system is you can tag bands anything you like and if it catches on cool and if it causes controversy even more cool because you are bringing attention to the tag which only helps the cause meaning it's controversial and controversy always makes for excitment lol! As foxmundo said, it has NOTHING to do with "emo", not the real emo, or the "new" MCR-like emo. 4. It's just flat out stupid. 5. Before telling me to "educate" myself, you should grow up and stop being a 32 year old who loves some teenage "emo" trend. Someone your age shouldn't even know what "emo" or "scene" mean. 6. If it's just a tag, why not just use the already popular "happy" tag?

    NO ONE said Happy Emo is an actual genre it's just a TAG nothing more! It's a tag for bands that have an upbeat happy sound that make you feel great when you listen to them. You might want to educate yourselves before you start or join some retarded "anti/hate group" like this. Happy Emo is also commonly associated with scene bands often labelled as emo that are happy & positive which is the direct opposite of actual Emotional Hardcore emo bands. Lastly remember the tagging system is not solely for just genres it's for moods, locations, likes/dislikes or anything related to a band or the music industry!
