1 May 2015, 15:21 by puremusic4everBREAKING NEWS: 'Stand By Me' singer Ben E. King dies
(CNN)Singer Ben E. King, whose classic hit "Stand By Me" became an enduring testament of love and devotion for generations of listeners, has died.
King died Thursday in New Jersey, his booking agent, Randy Irwin, told CNN. He was 76.
Born in North Carolina, King first found success as an original member of the Drifters, the doo-wop group famous for such hits as "Save the Last Dance for Me."
But he is remembered most for "Stand By Me," which was inspired by a gospel song. The tune was a top 10 hit in the U.S. in 1961 and returned to the charts 25 years later when it was prominently featured in "Stand By Me," Rob Reiner's 1986 coming-of-age movie about four adolescent boys.
The song has been covered hundreds of times and has long been a staple at weddings.
In March 2015 the Library of Congress inducted King's original version into the National Recording Registry, saying "it was King's incandescent vocal that made it a classic."
23 Apr 2015, 11:35 by puremusic4everHello, Last.fm Family. I have set up a "Last.fm" music group in memory of my late cousin. Please take a moment to check it out. This group is set up as a memorial to the life of Dexter Maurice Bryant (1963 - 2014). Dexter loved music and was a great musician who played keyboards, drums, trumpet, and bass. The artists represented in this group inspired Dexter to play music. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Memoirs of a Lucid Dreaming Practitioner. Part II
Light sleep, the second stage of NREM sleep.
What would life be like if we wouldn’t have to sleep? Certainly, we would have missed a ton of fascinating dreams. But we would have been able to achieve such great heights without drifting off every day even for couple of hours. Alfred Herpin knew it firsthand. This man had a rare case of insomnia, which allowed him not to sleep at all and this in no way reflected on his health. At some point of his life he claimed that he had been constantly awake for at least 10 years in a row. The rest of the more than 6 billion people will never experience this state. Because even just a day of insomnia results in problems with health for all of us. Within a few sleepless days human consciousness loses its clarity, causing an overwhelming desire to fall asleep with occasional “collapses” into a borderline state with confusional consciousness. This method of moral coercion is used during interrogations and is considered to be a refined torture.

Welcome to The Under 100 Listeners Group' Promoters Journal.
This is to collect artists that have been connected to our group or recently suggested to us. The first couple of journals however, will be filling all the old connected and added to our Comprehensive Under 100 Listeners 'LISTED' thread.
We have recently added the option to add external sources to your artists as platforms to listen to them. These need to be last.fm enabled scrobbled sites, so our members can scrobble an artist that has been recommended. This can be easily obtained by the group Sites That Scrobble to Last.fm which lists these sites with a short description of each one.
Please enjoy and listen to each. I have put my ratings out of ten for each, what are your ratings? Comment below.
ABOUT JOURNAL SIX
This is a list of all artists made known to us in January 2015. All artists may not be under 100 listeners still but we will still support them for this promotion.
In this Journal it will be more focused on providing you links than my personal view on the music. Therefore some may not have a rating.
All artists should be free to listen to, exceptions are noted.
My ratings are a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 is not very good (for my taste) and 10 is perfect for my taste.

Maïak creates one of key post-rock releases of 2015. They created to something big, something to be heard! The album is called “A Very Pleasant Way to Die”.
Filled with the symbolic weight of a catastrophe that arose as the punishment of man’s guilty arrogance in an outburst remained silent, Maïak delivers a dark and powerful instrumental rock that evolves between tenuous melancholy and chaotic blast. Released by Fluttery Records which usually release amazing post-rock, ambient and modern classical albums.
This post-rock storm comes from Switzerland. If you haven't heard it yet, here they have “A Very Pleasant Way to Die” on Bandcamp.

Inspired by bands like Deftones, L7, Hole, Incubus, Tool, Placebo, Nirvana, Faith No More and others, The Kut are a rock trio born from the alternative scene. Having been voted into in the winning spots for MTV UK Brand New Unsigned 2014 Poll, their ‘Make Up’ EP was produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / My Vitriol / Page & Plant / Def Leppard), featuring 3 brand new tracks plus 2 previous releases ‘DMA’ and ‘Closure’. The 2014 record saw immense support from Scuzz TV, BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Planet Rock, Kerrang! Radio, AXS, MTV-U, Putpat TV, Vevo and 16 cable channels across the USA.
Their forthcoming 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP is a quicker than expected follow up to the 'Make Up' EP, and includes horror pop halloween single 'I Want You Maniac'. Alekhine's Gun is second single from the 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP, out 13th April. The Kut release their latest single 'I Don't Need Therapy' on Monday 6th April, which "is about rejecting the ill advice that people try to ram down your throat in the guise of helping you out." The track mixes riot grrrl grunge with contageous riffage and is soon to be accompanied by forthcoming video, produced by Mike Gripz (Boy Better Know / Frisco).
The debut single from the EP 'I Want You Maniac' was added to the playlists of MTV-U and AXS TV. These US channels joined major UK support from Scuzz TV, Planet Rock, BBC Introducing and Jim Gellatly's New Music Showcase among others. The EP has also been played out in the clubs including Club NME and Medication.
