"Paul Laurence Dunbar Chambers, Jr. (April 22, 1935 – January 4, 1969) was one of the most influential jazz bassists of the 20th century. A prominent figure in many rhythm sections during the 1950s and 1960s, his importance in the development of jazz bass can be measured not only by the length and breadth of his work in this short period but also his impeccable time, intonation, and virtuosic improvisations."

Not only a great band leader in his own regard,he also played on some of the most important jazz albums ever including Miles Davis Kind of blue & Coltrane's Blue Train.

    Just joined, thanks for creating the group. Chambers is an epic talent that most people don't realize he is as important as he is. Sideman of some of the greatest jazz recordings of all time. Recently got "Bass On Top" and I dig, anyone recommend me a second album to get from him as a band leader?
