I still prefer Opera, because I can scrobble many streaming sites with the Last.fm Web Scrobbler that I cannot scrobble with Firefox, and the new Opera is still faster on my old computer than Chrome which uses too many resources like RAM and CPU.

The time has come. The time to say goodbye to an old friend. We've been through a lot together over many years, but you're becoming too old and too slow. I've been faithful for as long as I could, but it's time to move on. Farewell, Opera, and hello, Firefox! Also - fuck Chrome for corrupting every other browser out there...

Sorry to say this, but Chropera blows. Will stay with the old (true) version as long as possible.

Yeah, since they're based from chromium now. But the YT scrobble function worked for me since the Violentmonkey extensien came out.

@melvinkooi: new Opera 15 is able to use the add-on Last.fm Scrobbler 1.18 which originally was a Chrome-only extension. With that you can scrobble YouTube, new Myspace, Pandora and many other music sites now.

With the browser becoming mainstream and 'supported' it is giving up some of its independent essence. The website is attempting to "sell" the browser to me, even though it doesn't bring them any real money, employing vague, repulsive terms and photos of pretty young people, and the site is hard to navigate past accepting the latest version. I enjoyed that, when nobody knew or cared about the browser's existence, it was possible to browse WAP pages or ShoutCast servers with it, when those resources would otherwise disabled themselves upon detecting a browser. Also, what's with version 12 dropping support for old systems so rapidly, without apparent functional changes? I heard it stopped working on Win2k a short while ago, and now I when I try to install the latest update, it wouldn't even proceed under WinXP SP1 with some error about dynamic IP. Since when does it matter to a browser if the host address changes?

Stef-style: American companies ignore Opera because its market share is 1.77% according to StatCounter. In Europe it estimates 3.42, in Poland 8.91%. Opera 12 is coming soon. You can help to spread Opera by beta-testing (Opera Next) and advertising Opera on your blogs.

Opera is a very good browser, I even think: the best. But it isn't always supported... Hopefully it will be better in the future.

What reallu bugs me with Opera is the worse userscript support. I can't scrobble Youtube songs for example.

I'm actually doing it. After 18 years I'm switching away from Opera. It all started on my phone when I discovered Boat Browser. And finally tonight, I made the switch to Chrome, something I've resisted for years. So long, very fond memories!

New versions of flash & shockwave players are out, work fine with Opera 12 pre-alpha.
