Description:
Do you listen to music which is impossible to play in last.fm? Outside your home, or in other supports, like vinyl perhaps? Or maybe you prefer to play CDs in your hi-fi instead on your computer?...

We think that not every music that we listen is "taggable" and "scrollable", for example if one listen to his LP collection or with home hi-fi instead of computer this cannot be added to his music profile. This is the first problem.

The second one, more important, is that sadly a great amount of CD don't have proper tags, giving only "Track 1", "Track 2" and so on, this create a conflict between the choice of listening from CD but with bad scrobbling that we have to delete after from our profile or to transform our CDs in mp3 files, which are taggables but loose a lot about sound quality.

The point is not to tell in every moment to all the world which music we are listening and how we are cool because we listen to particular music... no. The fact is that with this site we discover very good music, similar to what we like, and for that we think that the work it does it's great, but there are other aspects about our music that we want to check deeper and share with others.

So, this place is where we can talk about the music we have, how we like to listen it and how someone else could find it, advice relating tag problems, recommended software to play music with, and if we have problems about anything else.

Second one - CDs doesn't have tags at all. All that information for players comes from internet databases like Freedb so you are free to correct if something is wrong or missing. ;) And hi. :D

You're welcome! There are a couple of bugs though: it doesn't scrobble things which have non-english letters like ö; and there's also a bug that 'cuts' everything you write after a "&". For example, if you put 'She & Him', it scrobbles it as 'She'.

Guysguysguys look what I found!: http://lastfmstats.livefrombmore.com/universalscrobbler/ you can scrobble any album you want, by selecting MusicBrainz.org from the drop-down list -after entering your last.fm username- and then it's pretty obvious. Oh and if you want to scrobble a manual song, select Scrobble Manually.

And if you have vinyls that don't come with a download code so you can't scrobble them, just search for the album on the web, download it (yes, ilegally), and that's it. You can download it, since you already paid for the vinyl and you won't listen to the mp3 files, so...

I used to listen to my CDs on mp3, until i realised I was losing frequencies. So, I didn't delete them from my computer. Instead, every time I listen to music on my CD player, I put play on my computer on the same album, and I turn off the speakers. That's it, problem solved.

Sure why not? Why don't you start a discussion about it? Some of that has been discussed yet, but it could be useful to check this out more deeply.

hi! first idea I had when I saw this group is that we must have discussions on ripping DVD-Audio for example... so we can scrobble everything!
