Noisy putting on a film screening

  • Noisy putting on a film screening

I know it's not really music related, but Noisy is putting on a film screening in June as part of Southend Fringe Festival. Details are below:

Noisy Fanzine Presents a screening of:

    A HUNDRED DOLLARS AND A T-SHIRT
    Thurs June 10, Railway Hotel, 32 Clifftown Road, Southend-on-sea, SS1 1AJ
    Doors open 8pm, film starts 8.30pm, £1

Local fanzine Noisy! presents a screening of DIY American film A Hundred Dollars and a T-Shirt: A Documentary About Zines in the Northwest US directed by Microcosm publishing’s Joe Biel. With a focus on the fanzine community in the USA and particularly the city of Portland, Oregon, the film aims to answer questions including what is a zine, why people make them and what the future holds for zines, through interviews with writers and visits to shops, symposiums, resource centres and libraries. With a running time of around 80 mins, this film will open your eyes to a cultural phenomenon that may just inspire you to create your own zine!

Generally suitable for all, contains some swearing.

    • Tickets can be bought in advance for £1 from www.noisyzine.co.uk or from Southend Fringe Festival directly.

    • The evening will also have a fanzine tombola
