Stacks on Deck: The Foundation

After CLICKING on the pictures/links*, I suggest using ctrl+f (or command+f) to find specific songs or albums. Also listed are features and producers for those keeping track. Pictures of album, vinyl, and single covers help illustrate the different concepts Nas was experimenting with. Please tell me which tracks I left out (by listing it)

*Note: I clumped albums together under certain links because Nas is known to take one overarching concept and cover it over 2 or 3 albums. So, once you listen to all the songs within a certain album clumping, the distinct styles makes it easier to understand what phases Nas was going through and the transition points Nas took within his career.

There are some outstanding mixtapes blended over the years but only the worth-mentionables are listed. DJ mixes where original verses were taken from other songs do not count unless the mixes are better than the original versions.

Nas' best work often lies within the shadows, also known as his unreleased and featured discography.

Not all the mixtapes shown are "original" material...I just put as much mixtape covers I could find because 1) sometimes, the cover is better than the blended attempts themselves 2) mixtapes are a form of hip hop and just look at how many DJs paid their homage!
