The Alexandria Quartet seem to be tagged indie pop in Last.fm. That's a bit skewiff. More rock, leaning towards indie and alternative. I wouldn't say pop! See what you think. Good tune, this.
Last.fm aren't standing for any nonsense and have evidently refused to pander to this guy's ego and spelt the name in the 'normal' way. So instead of 'frYars', Last.fm has frYars. Shaaame. And I was going to point and laugh at that capital Y... ; )
Anyway, good tune this. Anyone who knows me will be surprised I like it, but I have to say, it stands out from the usual indie nonsense, what with a little retroelectro to spice things up. A nice mish-mash of a track.
The new album from Robert Wyatt is being well received. Comicopera was released earlier this month on Domino records.
This is one of those albums that some people find challenging and others take to with all their hearts. There's nothing conventional here, but there is. jazz, psychedelic rock, political, and yes, pretty. I have posted the track 'Just As You Are' in the October playlist. (See the end of this thread).
Here is a video interview with Robert Wyatt, recorded recently, in Paris.
Upside Down Home 2007 features old, new and spontaneous compositions, recorded as live in an adobe studio. The gospel choirs have gone and now we have stripped bare acoustic guitarcountry.
The track world stand still is in the playlist. Below is the video for Train Singer Song. Recorded at San Pedro Chapel in Tucson, AZ on March 6, 2007. Video and Audio Production - Jim Blackwood (Litterbox Music Services).
On 26th November Kylie releases X, her first new studio album in four years. The album, Kylie's 10th, features 13 new tracks and was recorded in London, Stockholm and Ibiza. It features the first new Kylie material since the greatest hits compilation 'Ultimate Kylie' in 2004.

For a limited time, there is a mash-up of the new album available, to preview tracks, here.
New thing I'm experimenting with: a playlist of new music that's available on the net. All mp3s are legal and free and, hopefully, all permanently available (so links shouldn't expire). [about project playlist).
I only started a week or so ago, so this month's is a bit sparse. I hope to improve in time to come.
