More than 100 years after the Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ has opened its doors as the Concert Hall of the 21st Century. At last, Amsterdam has a fully-equipped medium-sized hall for a classical repertoire which is becoming increasingly broader and more varied.

The Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ shows current musical developments in the form of festivals, thematic projects, multimedia concerts and special series, which continually forge links with other eras, styles, cultures and art forms. With the development of the southern banks of the IJ, the Amsterdammers are returning to the waterfront. The location of the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is a meeting place on the borderline of the old heart of the city and the newly-developed banks of the IJ.

    Goed initiatief, vooral de events. Ik vergeet altijd op de website te kijken, en kom er vaak achter dat ik net een goed concert heb gemist. De events van Last.fm kan ik als feed op op m'n homepage zetten, minder kans dat ik zo iets vergeet.

    Wist je dat je maar €7,50 betaalt voor een concert als je onder de 27 bent? Vanaf een half uur voor aanvang van een concert, mits het niet uitverkocht is.

    Rondleiding lijkt me erg fijn om mee te maken; daar zou ik zeker mijn best voor doen om bij te zijn. Mooie programmering ook vaak in het Bimhuis/Muziekgebouw, voor elk wat wils, jong en oud, Nederlands of anderlands, alternatief of minder alternatief. Complimenten :-)

    Dat proberen we, maar die worden niet goed zichtbaar. Ik zal eens een post plaatsen op het forum, zien of er een oplossing voor is. Goeie playlist hebben we trouwens, leuk om te zien wat voor muziek hier gemiddeld geluisterd wordt.

    Vandaag (17 jan) is Tino Haenen, artistiek directeur van Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, te gast bij Viertakt van de NPS. Het interview wordt uitgezonden tussen 18 - 19 uur op Radio 4.     Dank iedereen. We zijn met vanalles bezig, van nieuwe website tot huisstijl tot multidisciplinaire programmering (zou het niet fijn zijn om een film te zien in de zaal?). Rondleiding gaan we zeker doen, hold tight.

    Loop geregeld door het gebouw maar een echte rondleiding zou natuurlijk erg leuk zijn. :) Wat betreft tips voor het Muziekgebouw, ik denk dat de enorm enthousiaste reacties op het World Minimal Music Festival wel veelzeggend zijn, meer van dat dus!
