  • I'll go with...
Tears for Fears - The Hurting (1983)

  • OK, for those of you wanting to see something rather obscure here and craving for new discoveries, this week i'll go with:

    Replikas - Dadaruhi (2002)

in my humble opinion, replikas is the best thing happening in turkish music in quite a while and they are great on international terms as well. this might be a little difficult to find, but it's well worth the search. here is the wikipedia page on the band in english, if you want some info to start with:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replikas

i hope you'll be able to find this great record. enjoy...

  • OK, can we start voting right off before someone places "the queen is dead" or "never mind the bollocks" here? LOL...

just as i've said last week, this is becoming something like "sophie's choice". maybe we can change the name of the contest. :D

I've posted mainly seminals (and the outsiders sneak in anyway). :)

One man's classic is another man's string of garlic...

  • ...I thought we couldn't do that? I've been reprimanded by Senior mostly-metal for albums half as popular!

If we're gonna have a contest, we may as well make it free and open.

As I said, what one person considers a gem isn't necessarilly loved by all, so there aren't any albums that guarantee the top spot.

Plus, it's better to place seminal albums rather than below average albums that no one really likes or heard of, it's better this way i think. It makes it exciting (best of the best :D)

    Can't agree more.

Plus x2, we've got the desks for themed contests.

  • If thats the ways its to be played lets bring out the big guns!

TISM - Great Truckin' Songs of The Renaissance (1988)

  • nah, i said that luishernando, i was just having a wee kid about, like, oh no, he's just placing that to get my vote', i dont like that gang of four, new order or cat power cd, like cy said...
the cd i posted is a classic too. maybe not as famouse as their debut, but i dont really like that old school grindcore thing.

Of course the best situation would be placing brilliant albums nobody knows to make others discover beautiful new music ;)
