  • Mexican brass knockoffs were common following Herb Alpert's success. No, I have not heard this, but would like to. They don't seem to have been scrobbled, imagine that.

I'm not quite sure what they were thinking. Sexy? Evil? Sacreligious? They missed the mark whatever mark it was they were going for.

  • Knowing The Cramps, they may have been aiming for tacky.

It's not cropped on the CD. :D

Here's a good quality wopping great image.

I love that album. A strange release for 1990 (new romantic right in the midst of Madchester). But who cares, it's good stuff.

My only claim to fame is I once chatted to Northside's manager on slsk. Whooopie!

My neighbor when I was growing up was a cousin of either Jerry Murad or one of the guys in the group. The neighbor was a bandleader, too, and I remember a time that the Harmonicats sat in with his band. I think it was for the neighbor's daughter's wedding. They are just as cheesey as they look, too. But harmonica gods, man. That enormous one is a bass harmonica. Those guys had everything from a bass or contrabass up to a piccolo harmonica, and they weren't afraid to use them!
