    Wiki:

Detroit techno is an early style of techno music originating from Detroit, Michigan, USA in the mid-1980s. A distinguishing trait of Detroit techno is the use of analog synthesizers and early drum machines, notably the roland TR-909 for its production or, in later releases, the use of digital emulation to create the characteristic sounds of those machines.

    There you go.

ouch. This guy needs a MAC style education.

Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, Theo Parrish, and Al Ester are all playing a classy new years eve party where the Detroit Symphony usually performs. Too bad I'm going back to Texas tonight :(

  • Hoping to make it to detroit this year for their big ol' music festival. Had a few friends who went last year and they all said it blew their mind.

If you want a good run down on the history of Detroit techno pick up The Kings Of Techno Compilation with Laurent Garnier and Carl Craig. It's worth it.

    People always ask me,
What's so fucking great about dance.
  • Been listening to Shake all day. Genius. Waiting For Russell is one of the finest 12"'s of electronic music I've ever heard.
