Pick of the week (a nice find by schizodanny):

    La Variete (1982)

For fans of bossa nova, an obscure treat from the early 80's. This would have been in circulation when Everything But The Girl were starting out. It makes me wonder if it influenced their sound (particularly "Eden").

  • Man, you pimped this out everywhere. I'm glad you liked it. :)

(Now it's my turn to listen to (and like) 808 State. I actually think I'll make a tradition out of playing our daily shopfront albums accordingly!

    Me too. :D

I've already played tomorrow's (put forward by LucieAndCo) and it's ace.

    This is a win-win set-up!

Maybe someone here can help me out.
Does anyone have or know of any tracks by Primo Scala and his accordion band?
I have a version of 'blue skies' on 'the world of easy listening Vol. 2' which is amazing, but any attempts to find out any more about them just leads me to a few cds on amazon, none with preview mp3s, most with out sleeve art and certainly no information about the artist!
    Wikipedia has nothing.
The world of easy listening series (released on Decca) has disappeared without trace, which is a shame because I was going to suggest it for a pick of the week! I may have to organise some kind of vinyl to mp3 converting set-up (which is a pain in the ass, but may be worth it on this occasion) and set up as torrent.

Load the Virtual Store Map, scroll down to Easy Listening and click the purple button. :)

I'd consider it to be something that requires no concentration at all, and perhaps something that relaxes (as a result).

Like a well-played piece of xylophone...
