How were you introduced to Muse?

  • How were you introduced to Muse?

I was shopping at Tower Records, it was their final day prior to closing forever :-(

As I was browsing their discounted selection, I heard Apocalypse Please (unaware at that time) over the store speakers.
I approached the front end clerk and asked "what radiohead album is this from".
The clerk gave me that "look" per say. He then went on to say "This is not Radiohead, this is Muse"
    "I was Orly"

I express the same emotion now when people ask "Is this Radiohead?"

    Ha Ha!

    Anyways, I Love Muse!
One of thee best bands i've discovered these last 3 years.

  • AHAHA I love it! And I can't believe no one has responded to this post yet. I first heard Time Is Running Out on the radio when I was a sophomore in high school, so I believe it was in 2004. Not as entertaining of a story, but there you go. :D

You and I must fight for our rights, you and I must fight to survive.

  • great history =D......well I discovered Muse on FIFA 07, in which has the music Supermassive Black Hole ! Then I downloaded all the cds and I came fan of the band =)!

I heard Knights of Cydonia on GH3 and went and got all of their stuff.

  • my best gave me a few songs, Citizen Erased, and then i fell in love (:

  • I think the first Muse song I would've heard would've been Time is Running Out, and I really wanted to now who it was by...
Then in 2004 I was involved in this big Statewide High School Eisteddfod and Butterflies and Hurricanes played in another school's performance - I loved it, but still didn't know who it was by...
then later on that year an acquaintance at school was playing a burnt CD in drama class and Butterflies and Hurricanes came up, and I almost exploded with excitement at hearing it again (couldn't place at the time where I'd heard it before) and was asking the girl - WHO IS THIS BAND??
and she goes, "They're called Muse"
~So that afternoon at home I googled them and listened in ecstasy :), proceeding thereafter to buy all their albums (still missing the odd B-side though)
I'm still annoyed at myself for not finding out sooner since they'd toured Australia only months before I found out they were called Muse! D:

    ~and that's my story

  • I was watching TV one day, and I watched Time Is Running Out videoclip on MTV by accident. I feel in love immediately, but I've had no idea where to find this band.
After that, I was watching TV again, and a brazilian rock singer (Pitty) was talking about their favourite band: Muse! Then, she showed two videoclips: Time Is Running Out and Hysteria.
Then, I spent almost two years looking for Muse songs, but I couldn't find, cause I didn't have Internet to download, my friends didn't know the band and I couldn't find any cds to buy. One day, when I already was tired of search, I asked my friend for let me listen to her iPod. When I turned on the iPod, New Born started to play, and I saw the ID: Muse. So, I discovered that she liked Muse and had a few songs! I totally freaked out!
A little time after, the internet finally came to my pc, and I could download more songs and buy some cds. Now, Muse is part of my life.

    That's my story. :D

They call it "Royale with Cheese".

My favorite footballplayer Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (the Netherlands) said in an intervieuw that Muse was his favorite band.
    So I downloaded some music.

  • A friend of mine who was really into them gave me Showbiz for Christmas the year that it came out. I was blown away on first listen and couldn't believe that they weren't huge from the second the album was released.

  • My brother showed me this unbelivible cool band :) they`re no 1 !!!11!!!

    :) muse
  • I ran into this on youtube. It was love at first sight

  • i heared the end of muscle museum at a friends house, asked him what the track was and who the band were, and the rest, as they say, is history

  • I first got into them around 3/4 years ago when i first heard Plug In Baby :)

  • I loved Time Is Running Out back in 2004, but stupidly never actually checked them out until 2006... I think I'll always regret those 'lost years' :(

Still, what an amazing band! :]

  • I remember seeing a video of theirs on MTV some 5 or 6 years ago, that was the first time I ever heard of them. But I only decided to go after their albums after watching their concert on MTV on new year's eve, 2006! However, they only became my favourite band after their concert in São Paulo, on July '08, they totally blew me away!

I heard Time Is Running Out somewhere, and i absolutley adored it! I wrote almost the whole song as i heard it, to find out the name of the song and the band, but it wasn't until 4 years ago that a friend let me met them. They've been her favorite band for ages but she loves them way to much to share them!!! Honestly, i was mad at her... She burned a CD for me and i think i payed it a hundred times in a row!!!!

***Wash me away...erase all the memories, they will only bring us pain***
  • I heard Time is running out on MTV and I loved it <3

    My Chemical Romance at EMA's 2007 <3
  • Knights of Cydonia on GH3... but I didn't pay too much attention to it. Then I looked up Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, and Starlight on Youtube after people kept saying how awesome Muse was, and I've been hooked ever since.

Yes I feel emphatic about not being static and not eating the bull**** that's being fed to me no more.

I once heard "My plugin baby" from a world of warcraft video, then got stuck in my head. The rest of the "dirty work" was done from my friends here and there...

My brother! He came in one day brandishing Black Holes And Revelations, I asked if i could borrow it, he said yes, and so, yeah...that's how i discovered Muse :D. One of the many bands i owe my brother for!

  • i saw the video for knights of cydonia. originally thought it was shit. granted, i'm in high school, and that was my junior year. i still listened to taking back sunday and my chemical romance. then i heard starlight. immediately went out and shelled out the $20 for BH&R. grew to love knights of cydonia. have since bought the rest of their albums.

i am now a senior and no longer listen to TBS or MCR :P

    Nothing can stop me now.
