• RadioHead sucks

Ok inrainbows was 160kbps. That pretty much explains itself

  • or they suck because they're a terrible band

  • they are one of those bands that can do no wrong with critics and fans, kind of like beck. they could release an album of fart noises over chicken's squaking and they'd STILL be treated like the second coming.

    fuck those guys.

  • Yeah I'm not a huge fan either..

  • Pay no attention to my posts then, plz. :-)

I like Radiohead, but overrated. I agree with whoever said they can do no wrong with the critics and fans. They could take a massive shit and it would be hailed as the second coming of Christ....

  • Radiohead can do no wrong?

I thought "Hail to the Theif" and "Amnesiac" were largely panned by critics and some fans. I know I don't like those albums - on the whole - very much. More importantly, if you really feel the need to be upset because an artists is "over-rated," there are certainly much better prospects to take aim at than Radiohead! Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, Kenny Chesney ring any bells?

Bottom line: if as you say you "like" them, then so what?

    Wow...

    so much hostility...

I study music for a living and enjoy Radiohead quite a bit. The bands and musicians that I respect are those that adopt a universal approach to their craft, and as a result you hear a convergence of influences in the music that they create.

Radiohead has done some amazing things in their career, beginning with rock and blues forms and gradually assimilating styles including electronica, trip hop, avant garde and classical. But groups like the Bad Plus, Gutbucket, Eighth Blackbird and Alarm Will Sound have similar artistic sensibilities without getting half the credit they deserve.

I would say that, if anything, Radiohead is the "Beatles" of our generation.

But the Beatles were just a band. Don't idolize musicians - it's not healthy for music.

I like some of Radioheads stuff. Haven't looked into them much though. And I certainly wouldn't compare them to The Beatles, from what I've heard as well as their what their reputation is.

Music is made to be enjoyed (generally speaking). It's kind of wasted if you sit there and sneer at the stuff you don't like. Just move on the more stuff that you do like. Especially now that there's sites like this and Pandora that let us find so so much music with almost no effort. I seriously don't think I'll ever get sick of this site. =^)

what an original thread, no one has ever called Radiohead overrated before

the fact of the matter is that Radiohead is easily one of the most influential bands of our time, and as such, disliking them has become trendy. you are all internet superstars

  • I could SO flame that last post if I was say...barely out of my teens, or a Radiohead fan.

"Internet superstars... not healthy for music... "
And, then, "You guys should just get the hell out of here."

I don't know if this is supposed to make me laugh but... damn!! ;~D

Pour vanilla vodka and pineapple juice into a glass.
Add a drop or more of grenadine.
    Enjoy.
  • Score One for Internet Trolling

Your next post should be "The Beatles Suck!"

    ....okay...?

No, really, I'd love to hear them. Like, Miles Davis - Bitches Brew, In a Silent Way, or Jack Johnson? I feel like Kind of Blue automatically scores first place...

Speaking of which, Miles is miles above Radiohead - and even Davis is overshadowed by Ellington, Debussy or Beethoven in terms of influence and output. So let's just keep things in perspective, shall we?

    and the Beatles suck...

    ... because they're dead (mostly).

  • I can think of a lot more artists that suck compared to radiohead. Yes they might be overrated but so what. It's bands like Nickelback and all the other generic crap out there that have ruined the music industry.Tbh most bands could learn a lessson or 2 from radiohead.

  • Have any of you even listened to Pyramid Song? Or Like Spinning Plates??

I went through a huge Radiohead fetish phase, that is now, thankfully, over. But, I still have a huge amount of respect and admiration for their musical diversity.

While I've never heard any of those bands, I'm sure Radiohead's prominence can only harm smaller, yet equally talented bands- which is an unfortunate residual effect of mass success. Perhaps a mass success that is indeed over hyped. However, It's important to note that musical prowess can exist independently of success- the two are not necessarily correlated (I know that no one is explicitly making this claim, but sometimes, to the misfortune of truly talented bands, it is tacitly assumed).

I challenge you to listen through every single Radiohead album with an open mind...

Maybe we could agree that Radiohead's overbearing success sucks instead of the band itself.
