This group is dedicated to the fusion between indie rock and emo hardcore, also known as midwest style emo.

Midwest emo is a subgenre of emo hardcore/indie rock . Basically it's slow, melodic music with personal lyrics, early post-hardcore sounding guitars and indie rock style vocals + traditional emo screaming.
The very first midwest emo act was a band called Sunny Day Real Estate (you do know them, right?)

    I think most people who listen to underground music in general (other than metalheads) will appreciate that rap isn't 'just eminem' jeeeez. Emo was being thrown about long before the deep elm series, whether bands liked the term for themselves is beside the point; many bands hate to be pigeon holed and rightly so! It's a good way of arranging music and emo is as relevent as any other sub of hardcore and punk. Though these bands are definitely more indie rock, that whole 90's sound was just fantastic.

    actually, underground hip-hop isn't as shitty as eminem. Midwestern style emo is very similar to 90s indie music. that is it. Why do not you listen to bands like Small 23? There were a lot of bands in 90s sounding like "indie emo" (tautology, emo must be independent). Don't you forget that Mineral didn't called themselves emo band?
