  • Try this.

Fuck the Royal Dominion of Canada and Fuck the Queen - Vive le Québec souverain
  • seconding Blind Guardian

Also, try Alcest if you like Agalloch.

  • Amon Amarth and Finntroll if you like viking.

wer morgens später aufsteht hält abends länger durch.
  • I dig Amon Amarth, Finntrolls recent Nifelvind rocks pretty hard.

  • @ Steve_Rowland

Mannn... that made my day. Excellent stuff. Protest the Hero is certainly moving up my personal charts. Thank you!

Maybe some symphonic metal with female vocals? I personally crave Epica and their new album is a bit "harder". You can try sth like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYe1hUee_8c. Hope you will like it as much as i do :)

Why don't you simply specify the genre of your choosing? Otherwise, you'll end up with a goregrind bands as a suggestion :)

There are a lot of sub-genres in metal that he may not of heard of. A lot of amazing bands would be discounted by being genre specific.

I see that you enjoy classical and symphonic stuff as well as death metallish stuff so id recommend Winds of Plague.

  • Winds of Plague is pretty excellent, I enjoy Arch Enemy.

I know no one recommended this but I'm not digging most of Tankard.

Thanks for everyone who is giving/has given input.

Side Request: Any one listen to weird metal? How weird does metal get?

  • Scar Symmetry's Holographic Universe is pretty sweet

Depends on what is weird for you.
But I'm pretty sure there are bands you would categorize as weird. :o

I can try to recommend you some more bands. Just checked your charts, so I'll try to suggest something similiar.

If you like Melodic Death Metal like Arch Enemy or Scar Symmetry, you may try
Eternal Tears Of Sorrow or Cavalera Conspiracy

For Folk Metal like Finntroll I would recommend you Adorned Brood and Turisas

And finally for Symphonic Metal: Symphonity

Yeah. I hope you like at least any of this. Tried to pick up fitting bands. Everything is linked with a youtube video.

Hail of Bullets, Revolting, and Nominon. All three bands released kickass albums this year.
