Who is the best Vocalist by your opinion?

for me is by far Dio ...he is just on another level.....

    Others that follow is:

Halford for having a voice that sounds like an electric guitar!

Blackie of W.A.S.P. ..his voice sends shivers down my spine.

and many more i dont remember now.

Geoff Tate is my favorite metal vocalist of all time. Maybe even my favorite vocalist overall.

Chuck Billy (Testament), definitely. If it turns out that hell exists, then I have to assume that Satan will have be channeling Chuck's uncanny ability to create an unholy amalgam of growls, singing, and whatever else he's doing.

    Some runners-up:

Phil Anselmo (Pantera) is the quintessential voice of rage. Sure, anyone can fake indignation (and many do), but Anselmo is sincere; the sheer impact behind his voice is like a bullet to the head.

Christian Älvestam's (Scar Symmetry) range is almost unheard of in metal. He can sing in beautiful melody, and then without warning switch to a mid-range growl, only to take it a step lower to a full-on death grunt. Each phase is pristine and blends surprisingly well.

If Chuck Billy is the voice of Satan, then Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) is the voice of the apocalypse. His colossal bark turns some people off because of its monotony, but nothing could fit the music better than this. Still, his voice hasn't remained static all these years, even if the changes are subtle.

Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) has such a lucid growl, yet it never compromises its inherent power. It's the kind of voice with authority, one that compels you to pay attention.

There's plenty more, but these are my top five.

Jens Kidmans monotony is an important part of his voice. By vocalizing pitchlessly, it allows him to use his voice as a rhythmic instrument instead of a melodic one.
(Sorry for using some neopropisms in there.)
