Man Recordings is a Berlin based label run by DJ and producer Daniel Haaksman. The label is specialised in Brazilian music and one of the few labels outside of Brazil releasing baile funk, the mad beats from the favelas of Rio De Janeiro. Man Recordings was started in 2005 and so far released more than 30 releases, all related to baile funk. The label broke many - today - known artists such as Crookers, Edu K, Deize Tigrona or MC Gringo and released some of the first remixes by Diplo, Sinden and Bonde do Rolê amongst others. On Man Recordings, two highly influential series were launched: The "Baile Funk Masters" series, in which producers and DJs from Rio De Janeiro present their work, with artists like DJ Sandrinho, DJ Edgar, DJ Sany Pitbull or Dj Amazing Clay. The second series is titled "Funk Mundial", where producers from outside of Brazil, i.e. USA and Europe, team up with the best voices of Baile Funk. Contributors in this series so far were Stereotyp, count + sinden, Crookers, Seiji, Makossa & Megablast, Scottie B, King Tut, SAY WUT, Jesse Rose and Oliver $. In 2008, released songs by the new project of Vienna based producer Stereotyp, called KU BO, featuring guest vocalists such as Joyce Muniz or Fefe MC. In summer 2008, label boss Daniel Haaksman released his first own productions on the EP „Who´s Afraid Of Rio?“.

Man Recordings still puts out all of its releases on vinyl, the majority of the catalogue is also available as digital download.

Diplo once left a comment on the Man Recordings Myspace page, saying "I love this label more than my own". There could be no better compliment.
