Those metaliban rockers will still be calling every new metal band "mallcore" because it isnt black/death/thrash metal from 80's!!!

mallcore IS NOT a proper genre, its a slang derogatory term to describe those bands who play "remotely popular" metal and the fans play it out loud at the shopping centre on a mobile phone or similar device (mall - term obviously originating from USA or more commonly known as the oosa)

captian obvious strikes again!

a good example from Black Metal (often regarded as true metalz etc) have Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth as two groundbreaking and excellent bands, meanwhile hypocritical black metal fans still call it "mallcore" based on popularity, not music, and its not even a core genre, get it straight!

This group sucks, but at least its one group addressing the issue

mallcore" is a word that does not belong anywhere, a word deliberately intended for use to annoy, frustrate and cause outbreaks of Facepalm to occur. hard and softer metal bands are easy to deride but we have had enough of this word, it gets in the way.

well ok, just stop using it. its easy to insult, but there is nothing to gain. It's not a big deal but is a boring use of language. Related term -music I don't like'

Yeah, except Cradle and Dimmu play dumbed-downed, overproduced garbage.

Nah old metal bands can be called mallcore aswell. It's just a synonym for overall sucking bands. I don't get what's the big deal really.

Funny how mallcore "kid" is always the derogatory term, yet I'm 20 and still heavily enjoy mallcore / hot topic metal.
