I'd probably love the tool, if only it didn't hang while fetching the data from my Sansung U5, and possibly didn't say I listened 200k and something times to every single track I put in the device when under Ubuntu...

I had to use a previous version (0.85) source to get mtp-lastfm running on Kubuntu 11.10, because the most current compiled version keep anoyning with a "mtpconnect" message. None the less, the software is awesome, it even detects the tracks I transfered to the device while it was mounted as a Storage Device... (on the Sony NWZ-x1050 Walkman of course). Thank you very much! Really! (Now, I hope to be able to someday transfer those playcounts to Clementine, but maybe someday)

Seems like the current build in the PPA can't be installed on Ubuntu Natty because it requires python<2.7. Is this intentional?

would be nice if we could set the scrobble times different for all, and also correct mistakes in the id3 tag before scrobbling.

I just remembered the last time I scrobbled from my phone was around...last summer. MTP-Lastfm just successfully churned through thousands of plays without problems. Thanks again for your work. :)

@woodenbrick It's working fine now. The problem is that many players don't read 2.4 tags and I tagged my files with that on my P2. P2 and many other players use 2.3 tags. That was the problem.

Ok so its working fine then? Btw sunrise, I had a look at porting the program to windows a year back, but as far as I know libmtp/libusb won't compile under windows.

What for?:D Linux is way better. And going back to my questions - tag issue was due to my wrong firmware update. Now I have 5.10 MTP EU Samsung P2 firmware for all scrobbling users of that pmp.

Thanks for the answer! And I think where the problem lays when it comes to my first problem: something's probably wrong with my firmware on my Samsung P2. I changed it lately so I am nearly sure that's something wrong with that (I noticed that in my plasylist on player tags are cut too);) I'll try to fix it;)

Hi Keith, to answer your first questions: 1. I'll need to have a look at this when I get a chance, possibly its a limitation of libmtp, or just my database settings aren't optimal. how many characters before it cuts off? 2. no it's not possible to scrobble in the order they were played since MTP doesn't keep track of this information.

Hi! I started using this program today and I think it's great. I have some questions though. First: Is it possible to scrobble ID3v2.3 tags? because I noticed that sometimes it cuts the longer titles off. And the other question is: is it possible to scrobble tracks in the same sequence as they were played?:)

Hi. I'm using jaunty and added the PPA to my repos as described. When i tried to install mtp-lastfm via apt I got an error about outdated python-support, so I installed the one from the karmic repos (python-support_1.0.3ubuntu1). mtp-lastfm installed, but it's still not working. When I try to run mtp-lastfm i get an error "mtpconnect module not built, please see README.textile for details. Program will now exit." Does anyone know what that I can do about it resp. how to get mtp-lastfm working on jaunty? Thanks!!

No it is not going to be forgotten. We are working on several feature implementations currently. We have fixed some bugs to githup repository, so new version can come very soon...

Hoping this handy little app isn't forgotten, this is the only way I can scrobble with my Walkman phone at the moment.
