Does anyone have a copy of "Word Gets 'Round"? I used to have the live version on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, but it grew legs at a party. =(

FOREIGNER will appear on the U.S. television program, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on January 6th, 2009. This, of course, will be the current line-up with Kelly Hansen, et al (minus Jason Bonham, who left to revive Led Zeppelin).

The LGB album has been in the works for many years. It's said to be a Christian rock album. The site says the album is in the mastering process, but mastering doesn't take that long, so I'm not sure what the hold up is with its release. I'm curious to hear what musical direction it takes.

I'm proud to report I've seen Foreigner 4 times. My very first concert ever - April 3, 1982, the '4' tour with Bryan Adams. I saw them again on the Agent Provocateur tour, the Unusual Heat tour with Johnny, and most recently with Lou on April 1, 2000 (front row, at Universal Studios Florida). I saw Lou Gramm Band a few years ago on my birthday. It's always an honor. I'll gladly see Foreigner again, but Lou has always been the draw for me.

I saw Foreigner on the Unusual Heat tour. Johnny was talented and did an admirable job on the classics, but it was kind of like starting to date someone when you haven't gotten over your ex yet. About 20 years ago, someone asked me who I'd pick to be singer for my dream line-up. And at the time I said Kelly Hansen. I liked his work with Hurricane. It wasn't until I heard he was being considered for Foreigner that I discovered his work with Unruly Child and that clearly showed to me that he was the man for the job. There aren't many vocalists that have Gramm's timbre, though I've heard a few over the years that weren't far off, including some of the stuff on Ritchie Sambora's "Stranger in This Town" album. No one's been able to top Lou as far as my favorite vocalists go, though.

Welcome! Thanks for joining. I was amazed when I went looking for the LG group and there wasn't one. I rectified that situation. Hope to see more people migrate here. Oh, and the only track from UH I still listen to on occasion is "Safe in My Heart." Shame Lou didn't sing that one.
