For those who haven’t seen it yet, there is a Slimdevices community effort to continue the life of the Squeezebox: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98521-Announce-Community-Squeeze It currently is in beta but seems quite stable. Just ordered a Wandboard myself to start testing it…

It appears to me that they have abandoned the Squeezebox product line as we have known it. Only the radio form factor has survived, and it is my understanding that they have changed the underlining infrastructure that supported the Squeezebox Radio with a new, less-capable featureset than we have grown accustomed to...

I love the Squeezebox ecosystem. I also enjoy the last.fm service. It's fun to share music and to listen to my friend's music. It's unfortunate LOGITECH has changed it's musical device product philosophy.

My Transporter, fed lossless audio by Squeezebox Server (and having perfect Last.fm & Spotify integration - thanks to a wonderfull community of open source developers) are working just as wonderfully as they did yesterday. And they will continue to do so, years into the future :-).
